Job Role : Accountant

Compensation range : $1,250 - $1,750 AUD/month

Engagement type : Independent Contractor Agreement

Work Schedule : This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home.

They combine deep industry expertise, data-driven insights and tailored services to support business transformation, risk and regulatory guidance, and digital and technology initiatives across multiple sectors.

Role Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing daily financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting compliance and budgeting processes. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with both internal teams and external accountants.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Process supplier invoices, verify accuracy, and set up payments in a timely manner
  • Assist with bank reconciliations and ensure discrepancies are identified and resolved
  • Prepare financial reports, summaries, and ad hoc reports as required
  • Investigate and analyze reported financial variances
  • Monitor accounts receivable and highlight overdue customer accounts
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and financial procedures
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts
  • Maintain organized and accurate financial records
  • Collaborate with external accountants for reporting, audits, and compliance matters

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Proven experience in accounting or finance roles
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, MYOB, or similar)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
