Location: Flexible (Shenzhen). This role allows the flexibility to work from home, within proximity to an office location.
The Role
On this team you are going to be responsible for the execution of supplier strategies on Mechanical parts and Mechanical Accessories to support GoPro different business models. This role is critical to ensure the right supplier selection to achieve the product design, quality performance, effectiveness and timely availability of the parts that are essential to the product. The candidate should have a strong engineering background, deep expertise in global manufacturing processes, proven tracked record in program management, supplier management, and cost negotiation.
What You Will Do
- Develop and execute global sourcing strategies for Accessories that are assembled with mechanicals like Metal stamping, Metal MIM, Die Casting, Plastic injection, Rubber moldings and etc.)
- Lead supplier selection process in collaboration with cross functional teams. Assessments on candidate suppliers in multiple dimensions to ensure selected suppliers are able to achieve the design target, quality performance, cost competitiveness and delivery continuities
- Collaborate closely with PDM, PM, R&D, Engineering, Quality and Material teams during the new product development process (Proto, EVT, DVT, PVT) to ensure supplier readiness and performance
- Build and maintain strong, strategic relationships with key suppliers. Resolve the issues timely with suppliers when they are escalated.
- Manage supplier performance through regular business reviews, score cards and retrospective. Dirve supplier improvements in collaboration with cross functional teams.
- Conduct deep-dive cost analysis including should-cost and total cost. Lead complex negotiations achieve best pricing, terms and commercial agreements (NDA, PDSA, SOW, CSA and etc.)
Skills We’re Excited About
- Bachelor’s degree or above in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, supply chain management, or fields related
- 7+ years of experience in sourcing, supply chain management or engineering on mechanical components and accessories.
- Demonstrated deep technical understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes of mechanicals such as CNC Machining, Metal Stamping, Injection Molding, MIM, Die Casting and etc.
- Strong experience in global supplier management. Excellent analytical problem-solving and project management skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin
- Proficiency with ERP system and Microsoft office suite with advance Excel and Presentation skills. This role is required to provide reports in supplier assessments, quote matrix and cost analysis.
Bonus Points For
- Experience in consumer electronics, especially in action camera or related accessories
- Experience with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) Systems
- Fluency in a second language like Vietnamese
