Job description:

We are looking for a Business Analyst with at least 5+ years of IT experience and experience with Google Looker.

This BA will be part of the Finance Looker Transition team that is transitioning dashboards from Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) to Google Looker. This role involves in-depth engagement with business users to elicit and meticulously document business requirements, ensuring a seamless and effective migration to the Google Looker platform.

Job Functions:

  • Engage with business users to elicit comprehensive requirements for dashboard features, aesthetics, and data representation.
  • Accurately document business needs, detailing data sources, key metrics, and any custom features to be transferred or optimized within Google Looker.
  • Collaborate with data analysts and visualization specialists to convert business needs into precise technical specifications.
  • Develop product wireframes.
  • Facilitate meetings with business stakeholders related to validation and sign-off.
  • Confirm the accuracy of migrated dashboards to business requirements through thorough quality assurance and user acceptance testing (UAT) coordination.
  • Educate and assist business users in adopting the new Google Looker dashboards, facilitating a smooth transition and integration.
  • Act as an intermediary between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure timely, transparent communication and a mutual understanding of the migration efforts.
  • Keep diligent records of user input and revisions of the dashboards to support ongoing maintenance.
  • Oversee the dashboard migration project from start to finish, ensuring adherence to schedules and quality benchmarks.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Desired experience:

  • Minimum of 2 or more years of experience as a Business Analyst, with a strong portfolio in dashboard development and data visualization projects.
  • Recent experience with Looker.
  • Prior experience with visualization tools (OBIEE, Google Looker, Tableau, PowerBi, or similar BI tools).
  • Experience in the healthcare sector and knowledge of relevant data compliance regulations.
  • Exceptional ability to document complex business requirements with clarity and precision.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with large data sets.
  • Able to collaborate and build relationships with stakeholders across multiple domains.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms
