People Advisor – Hybrid (UKwide travel required) Covering Midlands Home Counties

We’re on an exciting journey at Biffa — rolling out our brandnew advisory model: one dedicated team providing clear, consistent, and professional guidance to managers across our business. As a People Advisor, you’ll be at the heart of this transformation, supporting managers and teams through a wide range of employee relations and organisational change matters.

Reporting to the Head of People Advice, you’ll manage a varied portfolio of cases — from disciplinary and grievance to capability, absence, and conduct — as well as ACAS Early Conciliation and Employment Tribunal work. You’ll work closely with People Business Partners, operational teams, and senior leaders to ensure every case is fair, legally sound, and aligned with our values.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Providing expert, consistent advice on all employee relations matters
  • Managing your own cases from start to resolution
  • Supporting organisational change, including restructures, redundancies, and TUPE transfers
  • Building strong relationships and coaching managers to develop capability
  • Delivering engaging training and ensuring advice is aligned with employment law and best practice

      • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and business change processes (e.g., TUPE)
      • High emotional intelligence and strong stakeholder management skills
      • Ability to work both independently and as part of a fastpaced team
