As a UI (UserInterface) Artist, youwill be responsibleforcreatingvisuallyappealing and intuitive user interfaces formobilegames and apps. Youwillcollaboratecloselywithgamedesigners, artists, and developerstodesign, implement, and optimize UI elementsthatenhancetheoverallgameplayexperience and engageplayers.

Thepurposeofthe role istoconceptualize, mock-up, and executeinterfacedesignsacrossmanydifferentsystems, creating a visual and functionalconnectionbetweentheuserexperience and thegamestory. Youwillwork with us to design and develop user interface styles, structures and flows integrated in our projects, augmenting gameplay systems and complementing the established art direction.

The Quest:
  • UI Design:Create concept sketches, wireframes, and mockups forvarious UI screens, includingmenus, HUDs (Heads-Up Displays), overlays, and interactive elements. Develop cohesive visual themes and stylesthatalignwiththegame'saesthetic and targetaudience.
  • GraphicAssetCreation:Design and produce high-quality UI assets, includingicons, buttons, backgrounds, and visual effects. Utilizegraphicdesign software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator) tocreatescalable and visuallyappealing UI elementsthatenhanceusability and accessibility.
  • Iconography and Typography:Selectappropriateicons, symbols, and typographytoconveyinformation, enhancenavigation, and communicategamemechanicseffectively. Ensureconsistency in iconographystyle, color schemes, and typographyacrossall UI screens.
  • Animation and MotionGraphics:Implementanimations and motiongraphicstoenhanceinteractivity, feedback, and visual interestwithinthe UI. Createdynamictransitions, buttonanimations, and visual effectsthatrespondtoplayerinteractions and events.
  • UserExperience (UX) Optimization:Conductuserresearch, playtesting, and usabilitytestingtogatherfeedback and insightson UI design and functionality. Iterateon UI layouts, navigationflows, and interactive elementstoimproveuserengagement, retention, and satisfaction.
  • TechnicalImplementation:Workcloselywithdeveloperstointegrate UI assetsintothegameengine (e.g., Unity, UnrealEngine) and ensureoptimal performance acrossvariousmobiledevices and screenresolutions. Collaborateon UI scripting and implementationtasks as needed.
  • Cross-FunctionalCollaboration:Collaboratewithgamedesigners, artists, programmers, and producerstoalign UI designgoalswithgameplaymechanics, narrative elements, and technicalconstraints. Participate in brainstormingsessions and provide creative input toenhancetheoverallgameexperience.
  • QualityAssurance:Conductthoroughtesting and qualityassurancecheckstoensurethat UI elementsfunction as intended, adheretodesignspecifications, and meet performance targets. Identify and addressany UI-related bugs, glitches, orusabilityissues in a timelymanner.
The Skills:
  • Strongunderstandingofdesignprinciples, color theory, typography, and composition. Abilitytocreatevisuallyappealing and cohesive UI designsthatenhanceusability and aesthetics.
  • Abilitytobringstatic UI elementstolifethroughdynamicanimations and visual effects.Experiencewith animation software (e.g., Adobe After Effects, Spine) and a passionforcreatingengaginganimations and motiongraphicswithin UI interfaces.
  • User-CenteredDesign,knowledgeofuserexperience (UX) principles and methodologies, includinguserresearch, usabilitytesting, and iterative design. Abilitytoempathizewithusers and advocatefortheirneedsthroughoutthe UI designprocess.
  • Strongfoundationonthebestpracticesfordesigning UI interfaces fortouchscreendevices. Experiencewithmobilegameengines (e.g., Unity, UnrealEngine) is a plus.Experiencewiththemobilegamingindustry, platform-specific UI/UX guidelines.
  • Excellentcommunication and collaborationskills, withtheabilitytoeffectivelyconvey ideas, concepts, and feedbacktocross-functionalteammembers. Comfortablegiving and receiving constructive criticism in a team-orientedenvironment.
  • Creative thinkingskills and a passionforpushingtheboundariesof UI design in mobilegames. Abilitytosolvedesignchallenges, iterateon ideas, and adapttofeedback and changingprojectrequirements.

  • Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, In Design
  • Unity and Unrealengines
  • GitHub/SourceTree/Fork/Perforce
  • Miro/Confluence/Basecamp
  • Sketch, Adobe XD, Axure RP, Marvel, AffinityDesigner, Balsamiq, Principle and Framer are a plus
