The Quest:

  • Character Concept Interpretation:Translate 2D characterconcepts and referencesintohigh-quality 3D modelsorsculptswithaccuratefidelityto the original design and capturing the essenceof the character'spersonality, characteristics and likeness.
  • High PolyModeling and Sculpting: Use industry-standard 3D modeling and sculpting software  tocreatedetailed and believablecharacterand creaturemodels, ensuringaccurateanatomy, proportions, likeness and accuratematerialswhilematchingtheartisticstylerequiredforanyproject.
  • Low Poly and MidPolyCreation: Create the game-ready 3D model version of any sculpt or high poly, with a clean, optimized, smartlyprioritized and animation readytopologywithefficientuvs and achieving the technical and levelingrequirementsofany project.
  • TexturesCreation:  Use industry-standard software likephotoshop and substancepaintertocreateall the highquality and highlydetailedtexturemapsrequiredtoachieveanaccuratematerialsrepresentation, whilematching the artisticstylerequiredforany project.
  • Rigging and Skinning:Collaboratewithriggingartiststocreatecharacterrigsthatfacilitaterealisticmovement and animation. Skin charactermodelstorigstoensuresmoothdeformation and articulationduring animation.
  • Character Animation Support:Provide support toanimatorsbycreatingblendshapes, corrective morph targets, and otherassetsnecessaryforcharacter animation. Ensurethatcharactermodels are optimizedfor animation performance and efficiency.
  • Characterengine set-up:Together with the technical art team ensure proper integration of the characters in game engine.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork:Collaboratecloselywiththe Art Director, producers, artists, technicalartists and engineerstoensurethatcharacterassetsintegrateseamlesslyintotheoverallprojectvision and gameplayexperience
  • Efficient time management:Workefficientlytoachieve the estimated times foreachphase and punctuallymeet the delivery date.
  • Teamwork:Collaborate  and workcloselywithotherartiststo be a problemsolver and foresee and communicateon time anyquality, technicalordeliveryissuethatmayaffect the project.
  • Puntuality:Presentyourprogresson a daily basis and/orwhenrequested and assiston time toanymeeting, callorcommunicationrequest.

The Skills:

  • Expert understandingof human and creaturesanatomy, proportion, silhouette,topology,clothingphysics and construction
  • Demonstrateanunderstandingofcharacter-related disciplines such as modeling, texturing, shading, rigging and binding, animation, facial animation, and blendshapes.
  • Strongpolygonalmodelingskillsbeingabletogenerateclean, efficient, wellintegrated and leveledmodelstotherequirementsof a particular project.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard 3D modeling, sculpting, and texturing software. 
  • Full understandingofthetechnicalfoundations.
  • PBR Workflow and efficient/wellorganizedtexturecreation
  • High degreeofself-direction, butalso a greatteam-playerwith a strong verbal and writtencommunication.
  • Strong knowledge of industry-standard pipelines, workflows and asset exporting process.
  • Quick learnerof new processes and software as needed.
  • 3-5 yearsofexperience in thevideogameindustry and at least 3 creditedgames.

Software Expertise

  • Zbrush
  • Maya, 3DS Max, blenderorequivalent Software
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • SubstancePainter
  • Unrealengine 5, Unity, Zbrush and SubstanceDesigner are a plus.
