Sr. eCommerce Engineer

At Tactacam, we are a rapidly growing and market-leading outdoor products and technology company. With over 500,000+ active customers worldwide and an expanding product line, we offer exciting opportunities for career growth and personal development. Join us at Tactacam, where innovation, adventure, and limitless possibilities await!

Job Overview:

We are actively seeking a hands-on Senior eCommerce Engineer to lead by doing, not just directing. You will serve as a Magento developer and a technical anchor for our platform — driving clean, testable, real-world solutions in partnership with our internal developers, product owner, and cross-functional teams.

This is not a theory or architect-only role. We need someone who codes daily, solves problems in real time, and brings practical experience navigating the realities of eCommerce platforms. You should thrive in complex, fast-paced environments and be able to adapt solutions when “ideal” doesn’t fit the real world.

You’ll be a player-coach — contributing high-quality code while supporting and elevating others on the team through mentorship, collaboration, and healthy debate.

Responsibilities:

 E-Commerce Expertise:

Adobe Commerce Cloud (Magento), Fastly CDN, Stripe, Celigo and NetSuite Product configuration and setup (import/export)

Multi-site setup within Magento 2.x

Magento custom modules

Payment gateway setup and support

New Relic monitoring

Demonstrate hands-on expertise in eCommerce platforms, ensuring their effective use and alignment with business goals.

Lead the development and execution of the eCommerce program, driving continuous improvement.

Software Development:

Experience with Git, specifically within cloud infrastructure infrastructure. Development of Magento extensions

Pull request oversight and management

Upgrade, support and maintenance of 3rd party integrations with Magento.

Hands-On Collaboration:

Suggest technical solutions to business problems/opportunities

Implement discovered requirements, whether through existing application interface or via custom enhancements

Coordinate and execute data migration/integration initiatives

Collaborate with employees, nearshore and offshore developers within a team environment

Manage timelines and expectations by effectively prioritizing tasks and keeping open lines of communication with business stakeholders

Conduct code review sessions

Prepare code for production deployment

Document design and implementation details of new systems and features

Keep abreast of new development tools and techniques

Mentor Junior developers to help them gain proficiency

Work closely with eCommerce teams, developers, and analysts, ensuring the E-Commerce program meets their evolving needs.

Be actively involved in the day-to-day operations, troubleshooting, and optimizing processes.
