REQUIRED SERVICE: Business Support VA

HOURS/WEEK: 30 hours
SHIFT TIME ZONE: PST
SHIFT HOURS: 11AM-5PM PST
SHIFT DAYS: Monday-Friday

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Remote HR Coordinator to support our expanding team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment and enjoys working with diverse teams. You’ll be responsible for coordinating the employee lifecycle, maintaining HR records, and supporting recruitment and onboarding efforts across multiple U.S. states.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate hiring processes: posting jobs, screening candidates, scheduling interviews
  • Conduct onboarding for new hires (background checks, training schedules, contract generation)
  • Maintain employee records and update HR databases
  • Assist with staff scheduling, compliance tracking (e.g., CPR certifications, Background checks)
  • Support employee relations by addressing HR-related questions and escalating issues as needed
  • Ensure compliance with labor regulations across all relevant states
  • Coordinate seasonal hiring and onboarding for camp and afterschool staff
  • Assist with drafting offer letters, contracts, and internal HR policies
  • Participate in occasional Zoom staff meetings and training sessions
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of HR, recruiting, or administrative experience (education preferred)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace or similar systems
  • Experience with remote work tools (Zoom, Slack, etc.)
  • Knowledge of U.S. labor laws (especially California) is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally
  • Passion for education and youth development
