Redstone Commodity Search are working with an international steel and raw materials trading house looking to hire a Ferrous Scrap Purchaser to join the commercial team.
Key Responsibilities / Tasks
- Devise and drive scrap sourcing strategy and initiatives to achieve company-wide objectives
- Lead the scrap sourcing team and work closely with all regional scrap team to develop and establish a consistent supplier base and coordinate for all sourcing activities to ensure customer satisfaction
- Negotiate and implement the commercial terms/agreements for defined sourcing strategies which balance short- and long-term interests of company
- Maintain a strong understanding of supplier requirements, competitor activity and customer/supplier performance
- Reports into Head – Recycled Metals
Key Qualifications / Experience
- Strong, pre-existing network of connections within the ferrous scrap sector
- Demonstrate strong judgement, business acumen and self-motivation to grow a dynamic business
- Understanding of operational and financial tasks
- Minimum 10 years within ferrous scrap from Americas
- Remotely based
