Classification: Full-Time, Exempt

Account Director Overview

As an Account Director, you will own the financial reporting process, including planning, implementing, managing, and controlling the finance, accounting, and cash related activities for your clients, ensuring a timely accounting close and reporting cycle. 

Given the dynamic nature of the business, you will “wear many hats” and be comfortable adapting to change, navigating unique challenges, while anticipating and exceeding client expectations. 

You will be responsible for providing clients with financial and operational oversight, building new systems and processes, and guiding investment opportunities. 


What you’ll do

  • Manage financial operations, develop financial procedures, and direct their implementation 
  • Prepare/direct the preparation of financial statements and monthly reporting package for presentation to Board of Director
  • Report to C level executive in client companies typically serving as fractional CFO or VP of Financ
  • Own the budgeting / forecasting process 
  • Integrate technologies 
  • Approve all agreements concerning financial obligations, such as contracts for products or services and other actions requiring a commitment of financial resources 
  • Lead coordination with third-party resources (consultants, audit/tax advisors, etc.) 
  • Manage accounting staff with final oversight of the following: 
  • Monthly close 
  • Accounts payable processing 
  • Billing /accounts receivable processes  
  • Bank account reconciliations 
  • Short-term cash forecasting 
  • Monthly journal entries 
  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis as needed 
  • Assist with 512’s recruiting, onboarding, professional development, and retention efforts 


 

Requirements

 What you’ll have

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance  
  • Minimum 6 years practical accounting/finance experience  
  • 4 years management experience in accounting/finance environment 
  • Acute business judgement with ability to see “big picture”, prioritize and make business recommendations 
  • Adaptability to working in both independent and in team environments 
  • Experience driving collaboration and communication across an organization to enable success and growth 
  • Excellent analytical skills with ability to take action, offer recommendations, and make decisions with incomplete information 
  • Strong understanding of technical accounting issues and GAAP 
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Excel 
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills 
  • Proficiency in various ERPs a plus (QBO, Intacct, Sage, NetSuite)  
  • Team player, committed to supporting and developing others
