Job description

ENTRUST Solutions Group, a Leidos company is seeking a Chief Metallurgist to join our team. In this role, you’ll serve as a trusted technical leader and subject matter expert, helping clients and project teams solve complex materials, integrity, and reliability challenges. You’ll lead and support failure analysis investigations, fitness-for-service evaluations, integrity management initiatives, and the development of welding and joining procedures, material specifications, and non-destructive inspection requirements. You’ll also play an important role in maintaining technical standards, operating and maintenance procedures, and integrity management practices that support safe, reliable operations.

This is a highly collaborative role that combines hands-on technical expertise, client partnership, and project leadership. You’ll work directly with clients to define project scope, deliverables, and schedules, while serving as a technical lead or key member of multidisciplinary project teams. You’ll help ensure projects meet quality and profitability expectations, contribute technical expertise to proposals and RFP/RFQ/RFI responses, and collaborate across business units to connect the right people and resources to each challenge. Just as importantly, you’ll build lasting client relationships and help strengthen a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and practical problem-solving.

This role is designated as remote, giving you the flexibility to primarily work from home while staying actively connected to your team and projects. We value collaboration and responsiveness, so we ask our remote team members to be available when in person presence is needed—such as for client meetings, site visits, team events, or training sessions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Engineering or other appropriate technical degree, professional registration is required.
  • 10-15 years of material science and metallurgy experience in a natural gas or liquid pipeline operating company or engineering consulting firm. Five years of this experience must have been in a management role.
  • Collaborative approach to problem solving.
  • Exceptional communication skills especially at the technical level.
  • The ability to build relationships with staff and customers.
  • Strong industry contacts.
  • Unquestioned business and personal integrity.

What We Offer:

  • A supportive and inclusive work environment that values diversity and encourages innovation.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and career development.
  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, including generous paid time off, 401(k) with company match, tuition reimbursement, and flexible work schedules.
  • Benefits offered include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) plan with company match. Also offered are tuition reimbursement, voluntary life, disability, critical illness, accident and hospitalization plans. HSA or FSA medical accounts and FSA dependent care and transportation/parking accounts are also available. These benefits are subject to employee contribution amounts generally set annually. Full-time employees are eligible to earn PTO hours. May be eligible for discretionary bonus as determined by the company.
