Job Description

RESPEC is seeking an experienced Oracle Manufacturing Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide high-level operational and functional support for a National Laboratory.

This is an operationally focused role where you will partner daily with engineering teams to troubleshoot and optimize manufacturing execution within the Oracle ERP ecosystem. Rather than working from a traditional backend IT ticketing queue, you will serve as the hands-on operational liaison between day-to-day engineering processes and Oracle Manufacturing modules—specifically focusing on Work in Process (WIP) and Quality Collection.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the daily operational liaison and functional SME for engineering stakeholders utilizing Oracle Manufacturing.
  • Administer, troubleshoot, and optimize transactions within Oracle Work in Process (WIP) and Oracle Quality modules.
  • Design, implement, and maintain Quality Collection Plans, inspection triggers, collection elements, and quality results recording embedded into production routings.
  • Write and execute intermediate-level SQL queries to verify data integrity, trace transaction logs, diagnose workflow bottlenecks, and produce ad-hoc operational reports.
  • Translate complex engineering requirements into functional configurations, routing adjustments, and shop-floor transaction improvements.
  • Assist in standardizing discrete manufacturing workflows, scrap recording, variance reconciliation, and component tracking.
  • Travel on-site approximately once per quarter for cross-functional workshops, operational reviews, and stakeholder collaboration.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on functional experience within Oracle Manufacturing modules (Oracle E-Business Suite or Oracle Cloud ERP).
  • Deep Functional Expertise in Oracle WIP: Extensive experience with discrete and repetitive job setups, assembly operations, routings, component issuance, scrap tracking, and completions.
  • Deep Functional Expertise in Oracle Quality: Proven experience building and managing Quality Collection Plans, specifications, triggers, and integration into WIP inspection points.
  • Intermediate SQL Skills: Ability to construct multi-table joins, subqueries, and aggregate functions to analyze data and resolve system discrepancies.
  • Strong Stakeholder Engagement: Demonstrated experience interfacing directly with manufacturing engineers, shop-floor technicians, and operations managers.
  • U.S. Citizenship: Required due to federal laboratory badging and compliance standards for on-site visits.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in regulated, high-consequence, aerospace, defense, or DOE contractor manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with adjacent Oracle modules such as Bills of Material (BOM) or Inventory (INV).
