Job description

Talent Partner - First Opinion

Remote | Covering the North of England

Applications close Friday 13 November

About Us

At Inspiring Vet Care, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As the UK's leading veterinary care provider, we're trusted with the care of over 2 million animals and united by a shared purpose: healthier animals and happier owners.

We're looking for a talented and relationship-focused Talent Partner to support our First Opinion network, identifying and engaging exceptional veterinary professionals within one of the most specialist and talent-scarce markets in the UK.

This is far more than a traditional recruitment role. Success will come from your ability to understand specialist talent markets, build meaningful relationships with candidates who may not be actively seeking a move, and influence hiring decisions through insight, research and market expertise.

Blending headhunting, executive search principles, talent mapping and workforce planning, you'll partner closely with clinical leaders to deliver both immediate hiring needs and long-term talent strategies that support the future growth of our network.

This is a fully remote, home-based position covering the North of England. Occasional travel will be required for meetings, veterinary congresses and industry events across the UK and Europe.

How You'll Make a Difference

As a trusted Talent Partner, you'll take ownership of recruitment across a portfolio of First Opinion vacancies, partnering with senior clinical and commercial stakeholders to attract and secure outstanding talent.

A key part of your success will be developing a deep understanding of the clinical disciplines you support and the talent markets they operate within. You'll use these insights to shape recruitment strategies, advise on market conditions and influence decisions around attraction, compensation, relocation and international hiring.

You'll proactively identify and engage specialist veterinary professionals through market mapping, targeted search activity and long-term relationship building, creating sustainable talent pipelines that extend beyond immediate vacancies.

You'll also:
  • Lead proactive search and headhunting strategies to identify and engage high-calibre talent across the UK and internationally.
  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with veterinary professionals, creating talent communities across priority disciplines.
  • Partner with senior leaders to provide recruitment market insights and influence hiring strategies.
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, including sourcing, assessment, offer negotiation, relocation and visa sponsorship where applicable.
  • Represent Inspiring Vet Care at industry events, veterinary congresses and networking opportunities across the UK and Europe.
  • Use recruitment data, talent intelligence and market trends to continuously improve hiring outcomes and strengthen direct sourcing capability.

You Might Be a Great Fit If...

You may already be working within an in-house recruitment or talent acquisition environment and are looking for the next step in your career. You're excited by the opportunity to move beyond transactional recruitment and into a more strategic, delivery-focused role where you can genuinely influence hiring outcomes and talent strategy.

You bring energy, curiosity and fresh ideas, alongside a passion for building relationships and uncovering talent others may not find. You're motivated by continuous improvement and enjoy finding new and innovative ways to attract, engage and assess candidates.

You're skilled at looking beyond the active candidate market, understanding where specialist talent sits and building credibility with individuals whose career decisions may evolve over months or even years.

You enjoy becoming an expert in the markets you support, using insights, data and research to influence hiring decisions and advise stakeholders with confidence.

You quickly establish trust with both candidates and hiring managers and are comfortable providing informed recommendations, challenging assumptions and helping stakeholders navigate complex hiring decisions.

Most importantly, you recognise that exceptional hiring is built on long-term relationships. You're motivated by creating sustainable talent pipelines, delivering outstanding candidate experiences and making a meaningful impact on the business areas you support.

Previous veterinary recruitment experience would be beneficial, but it isn't essential. What's most important is your ability to apply proactive search methodologies, develop expertise within specialist talent markets and operate as a credible and trusted recruitment partner.

You'll Bring

  • Expertise in headhunting, talent mapping and proactive sourcing within specialist or difficult-to-fill markets.
  • Experience engaging and influencing passive candidates through relationship-led recruitment approaches.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and challenge constructively.
  • Excellent candidate assessment, negotiation and closing skills.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to translate market intelligence into effective recruitment strategies.
  • Outstanding communication, networking and relationship-building skills.
  • A proactive, resilient and collaborative mindset.
  • Experience within veterinary, healthcare or another specialist professional market would be advantageous, as would exposure to international recruitment, relocation and visa sponsorship.

How We'll Support You

At Inspiring Vet Care, we're committed to helping our people thrive.

You'll join an experienced Talent team and work alongside knowledgeable clinical leaders who are passionate about the profession and the people within it. We'll support you in developing a deep understanding of the veterinary sector, specialist career pathways and the talent communities you'll recruit within.

You'll have the autonomy to build specialist networks, shape sourcing strategies and establish your own presence within the industry. You'll also have opportunities to attend leading veterinary congresses and professional events across the UK and Europe.

Importantly, you'll be empowered to take a genuine long-term approach to talent acquisition, balancing immediate recruitment priorities with the opportunity to build pipelines, market intelligence and relationships that support the future success of our business.

What We Offer

  • Flexible, remote working
  • 26 days annual leave (including bank holidays)
  • Discretionary annual bonus
  • Pension scheme
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Wellbeing initiatives and support
  • Discounted pet care and pet insurance
  • Retail discounts and cashback across a wide range of brands

Join us and play a key role in helping attract the veterinary professionals who make healthier animals and happier owners possible.

Salary: 32000 - 36000 GBP per year
