Job Description:

At Cloudera, we empower people to transform complex data into clear and actionable insights. With as much data under management as the hyperscalers, we're the preferred data partner for the top companies in almost every industry.  Powered by the relentless innovation of the open source community, Cloudera advances digital transformation for the world’s largest enterprises.

Cloudera IT is hiring a Cloud FinOps Practitioner to join our Cloud Operations team. This is a hands-on role at the centre of how Cloudera understands and manages what it spends on AWS, Azure, Google Cloud and AI services. You will turn billing data into clear insight, help engineering teams act on it, and build the automation that makes our FinOps practice faster and more accurate over time.

You will work alongside our Principal Cloud FinOps Lead and with engineers, architects, Finance and Procurement. It is a strong fit for someone early in their FinOps career who wants real ownership across a large multi-cloud estate, with room to grow.

As a Cloud FinOps Practitioner, you will:

  • Monitor cloud and AI usage and cost trends across AWS, Azure and GCP, and investigate anomalies as they happen.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reports in CloudZero and related tools that give engineers and leadership actionable insight.
  • Support cost allocation, tagging and chargeback, helping teams keep their accounts and resources correctly attributed.
  • Track AI and LLM spend by team and cost centre, including usage efficiency, and support the approval process for budget and limit requests.
  • Identify savings opportunities, such as idle resources, rightsizing and commitment coverage, and work with engineering teams to deliver them.
  • Write scripts and small tools, in Python or similar, that automate reporting and routine FinOps tasks.
  • Support Finance with monthly reporting, budget tracking and forecasting inputs.
  • Contribute to the FinOps knowledge base and help promote cost-aware practices across product and platform teams.

We're excited about you if you have:

  • 4+ years of experience in cloud operations, cloud cost analysis, IT finance, or a data or engineering role with cloud exposure.
  • Working knowledge of at least one of AWS, Azure or GCP pricing and billing models.
  • Strong data analysis skills, including spreadsheets and SQL or a data analysis tool.
  • Scripting ability in Python, Bash or a similar language.
  • Clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Curiosity, attention to detail, and the drive to follow a number back to its source.

You may also have:

  • FinOps Certified Practitioner or a cloud fundamentals certification.
  • Experience with cost visibility tools
  • Exposure to tagging, chargeback or multi-account cloud environments.
  • Experience with dash-boarding tools.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD.

This role is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

What you can expect from us:

  • Generous PTO Policy

  • Support work life balance with Unplugged Days

  • Flexible WFH Policy

  • Mental & Physical Wellness programs

  • Phone and Internet Reimbursement program

  • Access to Continued Career Development
