The Role

This person will ensure tool assessment findings, governance standards, and domain data models align to Lumen's EA taxonomy and Data Architecture Review Board (DARB) approved architecture. The Main Responsibilities

  • Own enterprise data architecture standards for governance inculding reference architectures, Unity Catalog governance patterns, data platform governance integration models, CUI/commercial data segregation patterns
  • Serve as governance team's standing Data Architecture Review Board (DARB) representative — all new data initiatives affecting governed domains must pass a governance architecture review before DARB approval
  • Evaluate architectural fit of new tools against Lumen's multi-platform data estate; flag integration complexity and dependency risk in Track 1 assessments
  • Partner with Data Engineering EA on migration architecture providing governance embedded by design, with checkpoints in CDW-to-Databricks and other active migration SOWs
  • Author and maintain governance architecture decision records in SharePoint
  • Advise the Director, Data Governance Technology on platform architectural trade-offs in vendor evaluations

What We Look For in a Candidate

  • 10+ years in enterprise data architecture with governance-by-design orientation
  • DARB or architecture review board participation experience
  • Databricks Lakehouse architecture expertise — Medallion, Unity Catalog, Delta Live Tables
