The selected candidate will own the current-state and target-state architecture for a combined enterprise-focused capability portfolio spanning Human Capital Management, Supply Chain Management, Financial Management, Portfolio and Project Management, Business Acquisition, and Enterprise Management across the enterprise. This role sits within Strategy and Architecture, part of the Governance & Strategy organization in the Chief Information & Digital Office, and serves as a capability-aligned architecture role spanning organizational boundaries, solution portfolios, and enabling functions rather than a single project or system.

The Enterprise Focused Business Capability Architect is responsible for guiding capability evolution across workforce, supply chain, finance, portfolio and project governance, acquisition, and enterprise-management processes, along with the related data, platforms, controls, and integration patterns required to connect those domains into one coherent capability roadmap rather than disconnected local improvements.

The successful candidate will:

  • own the current-state and target-state architecture for the enterprise-focused capability portfolio spanning Human Capital Management, Supply Chain Management, Financial Management, Portfolio and Project Management, Business Acquisition, and Enterprise Management across organizational and solution boundaries;
  • define capability roadmaps spanning platforms, workflows, data exchanges, operating processes, reporting needs, controls, and modernization initiatives that support enterprise-focused outcomes;
  • partner with business, application, data, technology, security, infrastructure, and delivery stakeholders to improve coherence in enterprise-focused decisions; and
  • help translate enterprise architecture direction into practical capability priorities, sequencing, and transformation guidance for integrated enterprise-focused business outcomes.

  • Serve as the Business Capability Architect for the combined enterprise-focused capability portfolio spanning Human Capital Management, Supply Chain Management, Financial Management, Portfolio and Project Management, Business Acquisition, and Enterprise Management.

  • Develop capability roadmaps that span multiple systems, services, products, and initiatives supporting workforce, supply chain, finance, portfolio governance, acquisition, and enterprise-management functions.
  • Translate enterprise standards, architecture methods, and target-state direction into capability-specific architecture guidance for the supported enterprise-focused portfolio.
  • Identify dependencies, sequencing needs, reuse opportunities, and trade-offs across ERP-adjacent, planning, reporting, governance, control, and shared-enterprise management landscapes.
  • Guide solution and delivery teams so initiatives supporting Human Capital Management, Supply Chain Management, Financial Management, Portfolio and Project Management, Business Acquisition, and Enterprise Management advance one coherent target state rather than optimize locally.
  • Partner with stakeholders across Governance & Strategy, Enterprise Applications, IT Infrastructure & Operations, CISO & Global Cybersecurity, Insights & Intelligence, finance, supply chain, HR, acquisition, and PMO-related functions where capability alignment is required.
  • Support enterprise decision-making by clarifying capability outcomes, process implications, data dependencies, control requirements, reporting needs, and operating-model impacts tied to enterprise-focused modernization.
  • Escalate enterprise-level standards conflicts, investment trade-offs, or cross-capability issues to the Business Architecture Lead and Chief Enterprise Architect as appropriate.
  • Contribute patterns, lessons learned, and roadmap updates back into the broader architecture practice.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of the Aerospace and Defense business domain.

 Preferred Qualifications:
