Higher Education

At National University, we believe it’s not just about the degrees our students earn, but the degree to which they use them. Since 1971, we have supported working professionals who want to be a powerful force for positive change. That’s why we make education accessible to adults who live and work in the real world. It’s why we were the first to develop a flexible, one-class-per-month format. It’s why we offer more than 120 graduate and undergraduate degree programs. And it’s why we will continue to innovate and leave a mark on people who will one day leave their mark on the world. We embrace diversity. Because it brings a new perspective to every industry. Our classes and faculty are made up of an eclectic mix of people who reflect our different communities and have the influence to shape where we’re headed. We do all this because we care. About our students. Our staff. Our supporters and our community. We are a private, nonprofit institution that does not answer to shareholders. We invest our money back into making improvements so that the people who come here can do the same. We know our legacy does not end when our students graduate. It begins.

Position Summary

The Data Analyst on the Data & Insights team supports National University by transforming complex institutional data into accurate, actionable insights that inform decision-making, strengthen reporting practices, and advance student success. Working cross-functionally with data engineers, data governance partners, business stakeholders, and analytics colleagues in an agile environment, the analyst gathers requirements, develops datasets, builds reports and dashboards, validates results, and communicates findings in ways that are clear, useful, and aligned to institutional priorities. The role supports institutional, operational, student-focused, financial aid, and compliance-related analytics and reporting initiatives across a variety of business functions and data domains.

The analyst conducts full lifecycle analytics and reporting work, from requirements gathering and solution design through development, testing, validation, documentation, deployment, and ongoing support. Working closely with stakeholders, the analyst translates business needs into technical requirements, develops sustainable reporting solutions, and delivers insights that support operational effectiveness, regulatory compliance, continuous improvement, and strategic decision-making. Teams and projects are organized using agile methodologies, with scrum teams supporting key business and data domains including academics and institutional research, student operations, marketing and enrollment, and university partnerships.

In addition to traditional analytics responsibilities, the analyst leverages AI-enabled and automation tools responsibly to improve documentation, accelerate analysis, support data profiling and testing activities, identify data quality issues, and enhance the efficiency and scalability of reporting processes while maintaining appropriate standards for accuracy, security, governance, and stakeholder trust. The analyst applies AI-enabled capabilities in a manner consistent with University policies, data governance requirements, and ethical standards.

Through strong partnerships, analytical expertise, and a commitment to continuous improvement, the analyst helps National University strengthen institutional reporting, improve operational performance, and deliver data-informed solutions that support student success and advance the University's mission.

  • Leverage AI-enabled, workflow, and automation tools responsibly to improve reporting, documentation, data preparation, validation, testing, and other recurring analytics processes while maintaining appropriate data security, governance, and quality standards.
