Job Description

The Role

The Senior Manager, Antibot Engineering takes leadership responsibility for a defined part of the Antibot Engineering organization. Based in Spain and reporting to the Director of Antibot Engineering, this leader manages a distributed team located in Western Europe and Algeria. The geographic footprint describes where the team is located, not a regional mandate: the role contributes to the global Antibot Engineering mission and priorities.

This is a senior people-leadership role with three core accountabilities: building and developing a strong engineering team; prioritizing retailer work in line with business requirements; and driving an R&D roadmap that improves the effectiveness, durability, and scalability of Antibot capabilities. The leader works across Web Data Acquisition, Product, Engineering, Operations, and business stakeholders to turn demand into clear engineering choices and measurable outcomes.

What You Will Do

Lead part of the global Antibot Engineering organization

  • Own the people, delivery, and technical outcomes of an assigned part of the global Antibot Engineering organization.
  • Translate the Director of Antibot Engineering’s strategy into clear team objectives, priorities, roadmaps, and execution plans.
  • Balance retailer unblocking and long-term R&D projects.
  • Provide clear visibility into retailer priorities, R&D progress, capacity, dependencies, risks, and trade-offs.

Drive retailer prioritization and engineering execution

  • Establish a transparent prioritization process that converts business requirements, customer impact, operational risk, and technical dependencies into an executable retailer backlog.
  • Partner with business, product, delivery, and operations stakeholders to clarify demand, challenge assumptions, resolve priority conflicts, and communicate trade-offs.
  • Ensure prioritized retailer unblocking work is planned, staffed, tracked, and delivered with clear ownership and measurable outcomes.
  • Balance urgent retailer needs with platform development, solution durability, technical debt, and longer-term engineering capacity.

Lead, develop, and retain the team

  • Lead, coach, and develop engineering managers, technical leads, and engineers across the distributed team in Western Europe and Algeria.
  • Set clear expectations, strengthen accountability, and create an inclusive environment that supports learning, collaboration, and retention.
  • Own team workforce and capability planning, including hiring, onboarding, succession, and development of critical Antibot expertise.
  • Create effective operating rhythms for planning, reviews, risk management, and communication.

Drive the Antibot R&D roadmap

  • Own and drive an R&D roadmap for the assigned Antibot scope, aligned with the technical direction set by the Director of Antibot Engineering.
  • Identify research and engineering opportunities that improve capability, automation, scalability, maintainability, and resilience.
  • Turn experiments and technical learning into clear investment recommendations, reusable solutions, and production adoption plans.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, web data acquisition, applied R&D, or a related technology field.
  • 3+ years of people-management experience, including leadership of experienced engineers, technical leads, managers, or multiple teams.
  • Demonstrated accountability for engineering delivery and production services in a complex, high-change environment.
  • Experience with distributed systems, cloud platforms, automation, observability, incident management, and engineering quality practices.
  • Strong organizational leadership, prioritization, stakeholder management, and executive communication skills.
  • Ability to lead across countries and cultures and to influence teams outside the direct reporting line.
  • Professional fluency in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with web scraping, reverse engineering, or large-scale data collection.
  • Experience leading geographically distributed engineering teams in Europe and/or North Africa.
  • Knowledge of antibot solutions, CDN or WAF.
  • Experience driving operating-model change, automation, platform adoption, or engineering transformation.

Success Measures

  • A capable, engaged, and accountable engineering team with clear goals, development plans, and succession coverage.
  • Retailer priorities that are traceable to business requirements and delivered with transparent trade-offs and predictable execution.
  • An R&D roadmap that produces reusable improvements in Antibot capability, automation, durability, and scale.
  • Clear ownership, metrics, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder communication.
  • Effective adoption of global platforms and reduction of avoidable regional duplication.
