Founded in 1951, TNC combines science, collaboration, conservation, and innovative approaches to address some of the world's most complex environmental challenges. Its work brings together communities, governments, businesses, donors, scientists, and other partners to create lasting solutions for people and nature.

Our impact

Since its founding in 1951, The Nature Conservancy has grown to become one of the most effective and wide-reaching environmental organizations in the world. Some key accomplishments include:

Purpose of the Position

The Donor Relations Manager II will strengthen the execution of TNC's fundraising strategy in Latin America by supporting the teams and Relationship Managers responsible for donor relationships connected to TNC's work in Mexico, Belize, and Guatemala.

The role enables fundraising opportunities through strong coordination, project management, donor strategy support, and collaboration across TNC's regional and global teams.

Key Responsibilities

Donor Strategy and Fundraising Support

  • Support the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of international prospects and donors connected to TNC's work in Latin America.

  • Support donor strategies by understanding donor interests, capacity, potential, and alignment with TNC's conservation priorities across the region, with specific focus on Belize, Guatemala, and Mexico.

  • Support opportunities involving donors with the capacity to contribute more than USD 100,000.

Relationship Manager and Stakeholder Coordination

  • Work closely with Relationship Managers, Business Units, Divisions, regional teams, and other internal stakeholders to advance international fundraising opportunities.

  • Serve as a bridge between international Relationship Managers and conservation teams, translating donor opportunities into the information, materials, expertise, and internal coordination required to move them forward.

  • Coordinate contributions from multiple stakeholders and ensure accountability for agreed deliverables.

Donor Engagement

  • Support donor meetings, donor trips, in-person events, leadership visits, and other engagement opportunities.

  • Help ensure donor experiences are well coordinated and aligned with TNC policies, standards, and expectations.

  • Support both international and local donor engagement opportunities connected to Mexico, Belize, and Guatemala.

Proposals, Stewardship and Communications

  • Collaborate with Donor Communications to develop donor materials, including proposals, stewardship notes, reports, and correspondence.

  • Help ensure donor communications are accurate, relevant, timely, and connected to the donor's interests and TNC's impact.

Internal Processes and Project Management

  • Project manage the internal review processes required for solicitations and gifts at local, regional, and global levels.

  • Coordinate complex and collaborative fundraising projects involving multiple development professionals and internal teams.

  • Manage timelines, deliverables, dependencies, and follow-up across multiple stakeholders.

Data, Reporting and Pipeline Management

  • Maintain accurate donor information in TNC's donor database.

  • Generate reports and analyze donor information to support fundraising decisions.

  • Track donor opportunities and use information to support cultivation, stewardship, and pipeline development.
