Job description

This is a broad, hands-on role covering accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, expenses, banking and month-end support. You’ll work across several group entities and currencies.

We’re looking for someone with a few years’ experience who understands the full transactional finance cycle. You’ll need to connect the dots between entities and currencies, and you’ll be comfortable owning your work without close supervision.

You’ll work with colleagues across the business, so building good working relationships matters as much as technical skill.

The role

Working closely with the Global Finance Manager, you’ll own day-to-day transactional finance and support the wider month-end close.

Accounts payable and cash

▪ Manage Group accounts payable, including supplier invoices and supplier statement reconciliations

▪ Process supplier invoices and credit notes, and set up and maintain supplier accounts

▪ Resolve supplier queries promptly

▪ Prepare payment runs and support cash management

▪ Send remittance advices after each payment run

▪ Ensure bank balances cover day-to-day payments and that statutory and tax payments go out on time

▪ Manage employee expenses and corporate credit cards across multiple entities

▪ Reconcile corporate credit card statements

Accounts receivable and credit control

▪ Manage accounts receivable across the full order-to-cash cycle, from order review and invoicing through to cash collection and allocation

▪ Chase overdue accounts and produce regular aged debtor reporting

▪ Send customer statements and check debtor balances against company credit policy

▪ Complete month-end tasks for accounts receivable

Banking and month-end

▪ Complete multi-currency bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies

▪ Prepare journals, including accruals, maintain fixed assets and prepayments

▪ Support month-end close, audit requests and wider finance projects

▪ Keep financial data in NetSuite accurate and up to date

▪ Give other departments the financial information and support they need

Deal and order review

▪ Check CRM opportunities and orders are complete and follow company policy before invoicing

▪ Work with Sales Executives to resolve deal queries

Tax

▪ Prepare VAT returns and make sure deadlines are met

What we’re looking for:

Essential

▪ Part-qualified CIMA or ACCA, or AAT-qualified with at least 3 years in a similar role

▪ Experience as a Finance Assistant or Assistant Accountant

▪ Hands-on experience across accounts payable, accounts receivable and reconciliations

▪ A solid understanding of the full order-to-cash process

▪ Confident with journals, accruals, prepayments and month-end tasks

▪ Strong Excel skills and experience using a cloud ERP or accounting system such as NetSuite, Oracle, Sage or Xero

▪ Practical knowledge of UK GAAP or IFRS

▪ Strong attention to detail, with the persistence to investigate and resolve discrepancies

▪ Proactive and confident working independently

▪ A track record of owning your area of work and meeting tight deadlines

▪ Clear written and verbal communication skills

Desirable

▪ NetSuite experience (full training provided if you’ve used another system)

▪ Experience in a multi-entity, multi-currency group

▪ Experience with a CRM system such as HubSpot or Salesforce

▪ UK VAT return preparation

▪ An interest in AI, automation and improving how finance works
