About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal specializing in Employment Law to manage core litigation support, document drafting, case management, and the full discovery lifecycle.

In this role, you will work closely with attorneys to manage employment law cases from initial intake through trial preparation. You will handle state and federal court filings, draft legal pleadings and discovery requests, maintain master case schedules, and ensure strict compliance with court rules and deadlines.

Requirements

  • Draft foundational litigation documents, including complaints, answers, motions, subpoenas, notices, and proposed orders.
  • Prepare comprehensive discovery requests and responses (Interrogatories, Requests for Production, Requests for Admission).
  • Draft administrative filings and charge responses for employment agencies (e.g., EEOC, state fair employment practices agencies).

2. Electronic Court Filing (e-Filing) & Rules Compliance

  • Prepare, format, and file legal documents electronically in state and federal courts (including CM/ECF and local e-filing portals).
  • Review local court rules, standing orders, and judges' guidelines to ensure all filings meet strict procedural and formatting standards.

3. Case Management & Docketing

  • Maintain and manage master case calendars, tracking critical litigation deadlines, court dates, discovery cut-offs, and filing windows.
  • Organize and maintain digital case files, index pleadings, and track case milestones from initial filing through resolution.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, witnesses, co-counsel, and court clerks regarding case logistics and scheduling.

4. Discovery & Evidentiary Support

  • Organize, review, and analyze heavy document productions, personnel files, wage/hour records, and email communications.
  • Assist with deposition preparation by compiling exhibit binders, drafting deposition summaries, and tracking transcript logs.
  • Prepare trial materials, trial exhibit lists, witness lists, and pre-trial disclosures.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of experience as a Litigation Paralegal, with direct background in Employment Law (e.g., discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, wrongful termination).
  • Court Filing Expertise: Proficient in state and federal court e-filing systems (CM/ECF) and knowledge of litigation civil procedure rules.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency with case management software, document management systems, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
  • Communication: Exceptional written and spoken English skills; precise legal writing and editing capability.
  • Organization: Outstanding attention to detail with proven ability to manage complex discovery sets and multiple trial deadlines simultaneously.
