Job description

Position Title: Program Manager, Cybersecurity (Contractor)
Department: Global IT PMO Engagement
Type: Contractor – 12 Months
Location: Remote

Job Description

Position Summary
Client is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Program Manager Contractor to coordinate enterprise cybersecurity initiatives across change enablement, delivery planning, risk and dependency management, deployment readiness, reporting, and stakeholder alignment.
This role partners with project managers, security and technology leads, business stakeholders, and senior leaders to maintain visibility into progress, decisions, organizational impacts, readiness, and cross-project dependencies.
The ideal candidate has experience supporting cybersecurity programs such as identity and access management, Zero Trust, vulnerability management, and data protection. This is a program-management and change-enablement role, not a hands-on technical implementation position.

Key Responsibilities
Change Enablement and Readiness
  • Lead change-enablement activities, including impact assessments, stakeholder engagement, communications, training, readiness, adoption, and feedback tracking.
  • Translate technical changes into clear business communications and coordinate pilots, phased releases, enterprise deployments, operational transition, and post-deployment support.
Program Coordination
  • Coordinate plans, milestones, deliverables, risks, issues, decisions, actions, dependencies, shared resources, and deployment requirements across projects.
  • Facilitate cross-functional working sessions to clarify ownership, sequencing, impacts, decision needs, conflicts, and escalation paths.
Risk and Dependency Management
  • Maintain consolidated risk, issue, dependency, decision, and action registers with accountable owners, target dates, mitigation plans, and escalation paths.
  • Identify risks and dependencies related to technical prerequisites, deployment sequencing, business readiness, adoption, schedule, resources, and shared-team capacity.
Deployment Planning
  • Coordinate deployment planning, sequencing, readiness validation, entry and exit criteria, communications, support requirements, contingency plans, and go/no-go decisions.
  • Track prerequisites, readiness risks, user and business impacts, post-deployment actions, lessons learned, and improvement opportunities.
Reporting and Governance
  • Prepare concise leadership reporting on portfolio health, progress, milestones, readiness, risks, dependencies, issues, decisions, and support needed.
  • Develop dashboards, executive summaries, meeting materials, decision logs, action trackers, escalation summaries, and status narratives validated with project teams.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, IT, cybersecurity, communications, organizational change, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • Experience coordinating complex, cross-functional technology, cybersecurity, or transformation programs, including interdependent workstreams across project managers and technical teams.
  • Strong background in change management, stakeholder engagement, communications, readiness, adoption tracking, risk and dependency management, phased deployments, and operational handoffs.
  • Exposure to IAM, Zero Trust, vulnerability management, and/or data protection.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, organization, presentation, reporting, and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in medical devices, healthcare, life sciences, or another regulated global environment.
  • PMP, PgMP, PMI-ACP, SAFe, Prosci, or comparable certification.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity governance, risk management, security-control frameworks, vendors, managed service providers, system integrators, or consulting partners.
  • Experience preparing executive reporting and facilitating governance or steering-committee meetings.

Key Deliverables
  • Integrated roadmap with milestones, dependencies, sequencing, and deployment windows.
  • Change-enablement, adoption, readiness, and deployment coordination plans.
  • Consolidated RAID, decision, action, dashboard, status, escalation, and lessons-learned materials.
