About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized US Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day financial transactions and maintain accurate financial records for a US-based client. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of bookkeeping principles, experience with US accounting practices, and proficiency in accounting software.

Key Responsibilities

  • Record and maintain accurate financial transactions, including income, expenses, and journal entries.

  • Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), including invoice processing, payment tracking, and collections monitoring.

  • Perform regular bank, credit card, and account reconciliations.

  • Maintain and update the general ledger to ensure accurate financial records.

  • Process vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and other business expenses.

  • Prepare and maintain financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.

  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.

  • Monitor outstanding invoices, customer payments, and vendor balances.

  • Maintain organized financial documentation, including receipts, invoices, and payment records.

  • Assist with budgeting, expense tracking, and cash flow monitoring.

  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.

  • Support tax preparation by maintaining accurate and complete financial documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with established accounting procedures and internal controls.

  • Coordinate with the client or accounting team to address bookkeeping concerns and provide financial updates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.

  • At least 2 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting.

  • Familiarity with US bookkeeping practices and basic accounting principles.

  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, or similar platforms.

  • Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data.

  • Good organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.

  • Willingness to work on a night-shift schedule aligned with US business hours.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting US-based clients.

  • Familiarity with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

  • Experience using cloud-based accounting and financial management systems.

  • Basic knowledge of US sales tax and payroll-related bookkeeping.

  • Experience assisting with month-end closing and financial reporting.
