Job description

Position Purpose: Plays a critical role in advancing Data Loss Prevention (DLP) program maturity by contributing to strategy, guiding solution design, and reducing enterprise data loss risk. Operates with a high degree of independence, discretion, and professional judgment. Applies advanced data protection expertise to lead complex DLP initiatives, influence program direction, and partner across technical, privacy, and compliance functions to ensure sensitive information is protected throughout its lifecycle. Provides guidance on complex issues and supports the development of less experienced analysts.
Key Details: This is a remote position within the United States. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future. Sponsorship and future sponsorship are not available for this opportunity, including employment-based visa types H-1B, L-1, O-1, H-1B1, F-1, J-1, OPT, or CPT. 

  • Leads the design, implementation, and optimization of complex Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solutions, including DLP policy strategy, tuning, and false positive reduction, for defined platforms, data types, or business use cases.
  • Develops and implements data protection strategies to safeguard sensitive information across cloud and on premises environments, ensuring controls are effective, scalable, and aligned with program standards.
  • Recommends and implements enhancements to enterprise document labeling, classification, and handling processes, providing subject matter expertise to support consistent adoption and risk reduction.
  • Maintains and contributes to DLP documentation standards, including configurations, policies, and incident response procedures, ensuring documentation is accurate, current, and audit ready.
  • Leads the investigation and documentation of complex or high risk DLP alerts in accordance with established incident response and privacy workflows, and provides guidance to analysts on investigative approach and escalation.
  • Provides mentorship and technical guidance to analysts, supporting skill development, quality of work, and consistency in DLP monitoring and investigations.
  • Partners with Privacy, Compliance, Legal, and IT stakeholders to support alignment of DLP controls with regulatory, contractual, and business requirements, and to inform risk based decision making.
  • Develops and maintains DLP metrics, dashboards, and reporting to support trend analysis, risk identification, and assessment of control effectiveness.
  • Stays informed on emerging threats, technologies, and regulatory requirements impacting data protection.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree Information Technology/Systems, Cybersecurity/Information Security, Privacy, Risk or Governance fields or other related field or equivalent experience required
  • Master's Degree Information Technology/Systems, Cybersecurity/Information Security, Privacy, Risk or Governance fields or other related field preferred
  • 4+ years Data governance, data protection, information security operations or related technical domain required
  • Experience working in healthcare, insurance, or other regulated data environments required
  • Advanced working knowledge of data classification, data sensitivity, and secure data handling practices required
  • Advanced experience supporting or leading data protection or information security initiatives in regulated complex environments preferred
  • Experience owning or leading components of data protection or DLP program, such as incident response, policy refinement, metrics, or control optimization preferred
  • Experience designing, tuning, or optimizing enterprise data protection controls preferred
  • Experience mentoring or providing guidance to other analysts preferred
  • Experience applying AI-assisted tools to DLP operations and implementing AI risk controls for AI/GenAI data protection preferred

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Privacy, Security, Analytics or other industry related certification(s) preferred
Pay Range: $70,100.00 - $126,200.00 per year

Benefits may be subject to program eligibility.
