Job Description:

Role Summary:

The Sr. Pharmacy Innovation Specialist reports to the Sr. Manager, Clinical Innovation and is part of the Clinical team at OneOncology. This individual will play an integral role in supporting strategic pharmacy initiatives across the OneOncology network, with a focus on operational excellence, pharmacy integration, medication access, cellular therapy, supportive care, and other innovative pharmacy programs.


This role will drive the implementation, optimization, and scaling of pharmacy-related programs and services by partnering closely with practice pharmacy leaders, clinicians, and cross-functional stakeholders. The Senior Pharmacy Innovation Specialist will leverage project management, process improvement, and change management methodologies to support the execution of key organizational priorities.


Responsibilities:

  • Support and drive execution of pharmacy initiatives by guiding subject matter experts and cross-functional teams in accomplishing organizational priorities using project management, performance improvement, and change management tools.
  • Design, develop, and refine operational frameworks and processes to launch, pilot, and scale innovative pharmacy services and programs across OneOncology partner practices.
  • Partner closely with pharmacy leaders, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, physician and operational leaders, nursing teams, and practice stakeholders to understand workflows, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement strategic priorities.
  • Support initiatives related to specialty pharmacy, medication access, oral oncolytics, infusion pharmacy operations, cellular therapy, supportive care, and other pharmacy-focused programs.
  • Use OneOncology's analytical tools and available data sources to monitor program performance, identify opportunities, and develop action plans based on key performance indicators.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, workstreams, and implementation checklists to ensure successful delivery of initiatives.
  • Coordinate and influence multiple operational, clinical, and technical teams to achieve project objectives while maintaining timelines, budgets, and resource expectations.
  • Assist in assessing new pharmacy programs, technologies, workflows, and vendor partnerships through business analysis and due diligence activities.
  • Support development of best practices, standard operating procedures, workflow documentation, training materials, and implementation toolkits.
  • Stay current on oncology pharmacy trends, regulatory requirements, reimbursement considerations, and industry best practices to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Provide planning, coordination, and organizational support for pharmacy committees, workgroups, and related organizational initiatives.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned to help drive our mission of improving the lives of everyone living with cancer.

Required or Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of healthcare experience in pharmacy operations, oncology, medication access, specialty pharmacy, healthcare project management, or a related field.
  • Experience in identifying process inefficiencies, implementing workflow improvements, and driving operational excellence.
  • Project management experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in an oncology practice, health system pharmacy, specialty pharmacy, or infusion pharmacy preferred.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) designation and/or pharmacy technician experience preferred.
  • Experience collaborating with pharmacists, providers, nurses, and multidisciplinary clinical teams preferred.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement experience preferred.
  • Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management tools.
  • Bachelor's degree required; healthcare-related field preferred.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 15%.

Essential Competencies:

  • Strong working knowledge of project management, workflow optimization, and process improvement methodologies.
  • Understanding of pharmacy operations, medication-use processes, and healthcare delivery workflows.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Ability to present complex operational concepts and project updates to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt quickly to new technologies, workflows, and clinical environments.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills across clinical, operational, and executive stakeholders.
  • High degree of accountability, attention to detail, and ownership of outcomes.
  • Ability to work independently while navigating ambiguity in a matrixed environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Attendance is an essential job function.
