Job Description:

GDIT is seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer with strong Python expertise to support fixes, enhancements, and ongoing maintenance for a large, production web application in support of the EPA IV MAINES Contract.  This role will contribute to multiple major planned releases in FY26 and provide continuous Standard Web Maintenance across both the UI and API tiers of the system.

The ideal candidate has experience with modern front‑end frameworks, backend API development, third‑party integrations, and building scalable, secure, and user‑friendly applications.


The Full Stack Developer will play an essential role in delivering several major system releases by:

  • Enhancing UI functionality across multiple planned deployments
  • Improving backend performance and reliability
  • Strengthening integration workflows and batch processing capabilities
  • Enhancing search, filter, and administrative features
  • Supporting long-term maintainability through continuous Standard Web Maintenance

Key Responsibilities

UI Application Development Support

  • Implement UI updates and enhancements based on provided requirements
  • Perform Standard Web Maintenance, including:
  • Bug fixes
  • Accessibility improvements
  • Front‑end performance tuning
  • Routine UI updates and code quality improvements
  • Ensure adherence to established design, usability, and security guidelines

API Application Development Support

  • Build and support third‑party migrations and integrations
  • Implement batch upload functionality for external systems
  • Develop additional backend features as requested
  • Improve search and filter capabilities
  • Support development and enhancement of administrative modules
  • Establish and follow standards for migrations and integrations
  • Enhance integration‑related functionality for improved reliability and performance
  • Support migration of legacy data and processes to updated architecture
  • Ensure API components meet expectations for performance, scalability, and security

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience with Python and modern frameworks (Django, Flask, FastAPI, or similar)
  • Full stack experience with JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue
  • Experience designing, developing, and maintaining REST APIs
  • Experience with batch processing workflows
  • Experience integrating external or third‑party systems
  • Proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.)
  • Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Git version control experience
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and manage work across multiple releases
  • Experience with Agile development processes
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting large-scale production applications
  • Familiarity with secure coding practices and enterprise security standards
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks
  • Experience with PHP
The likely salary range for this position is $127,500 - $172,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
