Location: Dublin, OH or Remote

Position Summary:

The Business Development Manager is a senior individual-contributor role responsible for driving revenue growth across targeted national markets through direct engagement with key decision makers and influencers in the Architectural Acoustics, Noise Control, and Vibration Isolation market sectors. This role focuses on promoting our custom, engineered products into complex, design-driven environments where performance, aesthetics, and technical credibility matter.

Core responsibilities include analyzing territory performance; engaging with the acoustics community and the Kinetics Noise Control, Inc. (KNC) Engineering Group to develop product solutions for floor, ceiling, and wall isolation systems; serving as a technical expert on product solutions and application information; collaborating with the KNC Building Acoustics Design Team to evaluate submittal drawing packages; coordinating with the Marketing team to create promotional content and product solution media; and troubleshooting installation issues as needed.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Participate and make recommendations in short- and long-range planning necessary to ensure continued aggressive market growth.
  • Develop and execute plans that encourage Kinetics’ Sales Representatives to focus on selling Building Acoustics Market Group product solutions.
  • Work closely with the Director of Sales to develop and execute market channel strategies in the assigned territory, coordinate targeted marketing campaigns with Kinetics Marketing team members, and align with the Sales Team on subject material for upcoming webinars.
  • Lead manufacturer’s representative product training and assist in trade shows, seminars and similar events.
  • Act as an advocate for Sales Representatives by training them on how to apply Kinetics’ product solutions for ceiling, floor, and wall noise control applications, and supporting their sales efforts and business growth.
  • Conduct Voice of the Customer visits and surveys, in market and virtually, to engage market group Influencers and Decision Makers.
  • Responsible for sales growth for assigned territory and customer base.
  • Analyze current construction cycles to stay informed of large projects and share important information with local Kinetics representatives
  • Investigate what competitors are doing that influencers and decision makers in the market really like and develop similar or better tools, products, infrastructure, etc.
  • Work with engineering team to develop innovative new products that capture the attention of influencers and lighten the workload of contractors.
  • Develop supplier partnerships that can assist in product design and development
  • Any additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education/Experience:

Required:

  • Four-year college degree with 3–5 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office products

Preferred:

  • Degree in Acoustical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction, or a related field
  • Familiarity with basic construction practices and the ability to interpret bid/contract documents
  • Experience in sales, sales support, or specification development with Architectural & Engineering firms

Communication Skills/Requirements:

Able to communicate verbally and/or in writing as to work requirements, work in progress, and discrepancy issues. Interacts verbally and in writing with other employees, members of management, customers, and others as necessary. Telephone and personal contacts necessary. Must demonstrate tact, diplomacy, professionalism, and positive demeanor in performance of duties.

Reasoning Ability:

Able to follow instructions and/or directions requiring normal to extended periods of concentration. Requires ability to follow a course/sequence of action within specified procedures and to logically think through error issues in order to resolve or contact appropriate source. Must maintain normal mental alertness to accurate completion of essential job responsibilities. Must be able to organize work to ensure attention to detail and follow through.

Travel:

Occasional domestic and international travel via automobile or airplane, as needed. Travel expected up to approximately 40% of total work time with overnight travel as needed.

Licenses/Certifications/Credit:

Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

Physical Demands:

Routine physical demands for office environment. Operates personal computer, copier, facsimile machine, printer, calculator, telephone. Some prolonged periods of sitting may be required. Occasional lifting of boxes (up to 25 pounds) may be required as needed.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. Exposed to minimal hazards.

Work Location: Corporate facilities Dublin, OH or Remote with proximity to a major airport

Compensation: In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for additional quarterly incentives.
