Job description

ABOUT ACCESS OFFSHORING:

We specialise in providing Australian businesses with experience and qualified professionals based in the Philippines. Not only does our team of recruiters have extensive experience in sourcing and recruiting offshore talent, we also help Australian businesses implement best practice when it comes to building an offshore team.

ABOUT THE CLIENT:

Our client is an established Australian fencing and gate specialist delivering solutions across both domestic and commercial projects. The business works across a broad range of fencing materials, systems and gate configurations, with a strong focus on quality, accuracy and practical project delivery. Their culture values ownership, attention to detail, respectful communication, teamwork and continuously improving the standard of work.

JOB SUMMARY:

The successful team member will prepare accurate material quantities and component breakdowns for the clients tenders/projects. This will include reviewing project drawings and specifications, determine all materials required for each fencing and gate system, and prepare clear, itemised schedules that can be used by the Senior Estimator/Business Owner. The role is focused on measurement, specification accuracy and quantities. Supplier pricing and purchasing decisions remain with the Business Owner initially.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review drawings and project documentation
Read plans, specifications, fence schedules and approved shop drawings and verify scales, dimensions, heights, levels, finishes and drawing revisions before undertaking take-offs.
  • Complete accurate fencing and gate take-offs
Measure fence lengths by type/location, identify height changes, corners, slopes and stepped sections, separate gate openings and calculate the required components for each system.
  • Prepare complete material and component breakdowns
Quantify posts, panels, rails, palings, sheets, slats, mesh, wire, brackets, caps, fixings, gate frames, hardware, automation components, concrete/footings and other required accessories.
  • Produce itemised Bills of Materials
Create Excel schedules grouped by fence type, gate, location or supplier category, clearly recording drawing references, descriptions, dimensions, specifications, units, net quantities, allowances and total required quantities.
  • Maintain accuracy, traceability and revision control
Provide marked-up drawings supporting each schedule, identify unresolved items, maintain a query register, update quantities when drawings change and ensure schedules remain traceable to the correct revision.
