Job description

ABOUT ECRI

ECRI is an independent, nonprofit healthcare safety organization advancing evidence-based, effective healthcare globally. For more than 50 years, we've helped healthcare leaders make smarter, safer decisions — free from vendor influence or conflicting interests. Today, ECRI is home to a family of trusted safety brands, including the Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP) and The Just Culture Company, extending our reach across patient safety, medication safety, and safety culture transformation. Join us, and your work will directly protect patients worldwide.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Comprehensive healthcare coverage: Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, critical illness insurance, and more.

  • Retirement savings: Employer-matching Retirement Savings Plan.

  • Culture of Belonging: Participate in employee groups to learn from, growth with, and support colleagues in our collective success.

  • Purpose beyond the paycheck: 16 paid hours annually through ECRI Cares to volunteer with preapproved charities.

POSITION SUMMARY

The VP, Data & Analytics Products role leads the organization's data products function. This role will define and execute the strategy for transforming ECRI's unparalleled proprietary healthcare safety data into scalable commercial products and intelligence services. The role will serve as both a strategic architect and an organizational builder — standing up a high-performing team, forging the governance structures that connect the new function to existing technical teams, and personally driving the first generation of commercial data products to market.

This role requires a leader who is bilingual: technically credible enough to earn the trust of data scientists and engineers, and commercially savvy enough to translate data assets into products that healthcare organizations will purchase. The position will have a seat at ECRI's leadership table and serve as the internal champion for data as a strategic and revenue-generating asset.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Reasonable Accommodations Statement

To accomplish this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation, each essential function satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to help enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Essential Functions

• Strategy & Leadership
  • Define and own ECRI's data products strategy, including a multi-year roadmap for commercial data products aligned to the organization's patient safety mission.
  • Serve as the executive sponsor for all data commercialization initiatives, including pricing strategy, partnership models, and go-to-market planning.
  • Build and lead a lean, high-performing team of product managers, data scientists, and a visualization designer.
  • Resolve the organizational design of matrixed data engineering and MDM resources, establishing formal governance through the Data Products Council.
  • Present to the CEO, Board, and external stakeholders on data products strategy and commercial performance.
  • Product Development & Commercialization
  • Oversee the full product lifecycle for data products — from discovery and definition through build, launch, and iteration.
  • Identify and prioritize the highest-value commercial opportunities within ECRI's data assets, including benchmarks, predictive models, surveillance tools, and intelligence subscriptions.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Legal to bring data products to market, including licensing structure, pricing, and customer success.
  • Build the frameworks and standards that ensure commercial products maintain ECRI's standards for data integrity, privacy, and independent authority.
  • Data Governance & Infrastructure
  • Establish data governance policies that support commercial use cases, including de-identification standards, access controls, and provenance tracking.
  • Partner with data engineering to ensure the data infrastructure can support scalable, reliable product delivery.
  • Work with MDM to ensure master data quality and ontological consistency underpin all commercial products.
