Product Marketing Director
Location: UK, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Spain, Finland, USA. Some travel to our offices will be required from time-to-time

Reports to: Chief Commercial Officer

πŸ’Ό About the role

PQShield is looking for a Product Marketing Director who can turn complex technology into stories that people understand, remember, and act on.

You will own how PQShield's products, technology, and vision are positioned, communicated, and brought to market worldwide. You'll sit at the intersection of product, engineering, sales, customers, and the broader security market β€” translating breakthrough cryptography and security technology into compelling narratives for executives, engineers, partners, and buyers.

This role is for a strategic product marketer and exceptional storyteller who can identify the market shift, understand the customer problem, and turn complex technology into differentiated positioning that creates urgency, preference and demand.

Since NIST published its first post-quantum cryptography (PQC) standards, which the PQShield team co-authored, organizations across semiconductors, automotive, defense, and enterprise face significant challenges in preparing for the post-quantum transition. This role will help define the market narrative around that transition, position PQShield's portfolio within it and give customers a clear reason to act.

βš’οΈ What you’ll be doing

  • Own the story: Develop the narrative, positioning, messaging, and value propositions that explain what is changing in the market, why customers need to act, the problem PQShield solves, and why our approach is differentiated.
  • Turn technical capability into customer value: Work with cryptographers, engineers and product leaders to understand sophisticated technology, identify what matters to the buyer and translate technical capabilities into clear business and security value without sacrificing technical credibility.
  • Position the portfolio: Own positioning and messaging for our hardware IP and software portfolio, including PQPlatform, PQPerform, PQCryptoLib, and PQMicroLib. Build a clear messaging architecture that connects the portfolio while preserving the differentiated value of each offering.
  • Understand the customer: Develop deep insight into customer problems, buying journeys, security requirements, regulatory pressures, barriers to adoption, buying dynamics, and the forces driving post-quantum adoption. Turn those insights into sharper products, messaging, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Shape category and market narrative: Help define how PQShield talks about post-quantum security, cryptographic agility, and the transition to quantum-safe systems β€” and how we differentiate our approach in a rapidly evolving market.
  • Lead product launches: Create and execute compelling go-to-market strategies for new products, certifications, partnerships, and major releases.
  • Equip the sales team: Build compelling presentations, stories, solution briefs, case studies, battlecards, and other tools that help sales teams communicate value and win complex deals.
  • Build buyer and segment-specific stories: Develop differentiated narratives for semiconductors, automotive, military and aerospace, industrial IoT, networking, and enterprise, adapting the value story for different buyers, use cases and business priorities.
  • Own competitive storytelling: Understand the competitive landscape and turn technical and commercial differences into clear, credible differentiation.
  • Create exceptional content: Lead the development of white papers, thought leadership, application notes, customer stories, executive content, web experiences, and other material that establishes PQShield as a category leader.
  • Bring customer stories to life: Find and develop the stories that demonstrate why customers are making the transition to post-quantum security and why they choose PQShield.
  • Work across the company: Partner closely with product, engineering, sales, partnerships, and leadership to ensure the market sees one clear, compelling PQShield story.

🎯 Required Skills And Qualifications

We're looking for an experienced product marketing leader who is exceptionally strong in positioning, messaging and strategic storytelling. You can take an emerging market, complicated buyer problem or deeply technical product and find the clear narrative inside it.

  • 8+ years of marketing experience, with significant experience in product marketing, technology marketing, B2B marketing, or a closely related discipline.
  • A proven ability to develop positioning and stories that change how markets understand a product, technology, or company.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. You can take something highly technical and make it understandable, interesting, and compelling without dumbing it down.
  • Strong storytelling instincts and the ability to find the human, business, and strategic narrative inside complex technology.
  • Experience marketing technical B2B products, ideally in cybersecurity, semiconductors, infrastructure, embedded systems, software, or another sophisticated technology market.
  • Strong understanding of security and technology buyers, and the ability to communicate credibly with CISOs, CTOs, engineers, architects, product leaders, and business executives.
  • Demonstrated ability to work closely with technical experts and quickly develop enough subject-matter expertise to challenge assumptions, ask good questions, and tell an accurate story.
  • A strong commercial mindset: you understand that great marketing isn't just about explaining a product β€” it's about creating differentiation, urgency, preference, and ultimately revenue.
  • Experience launching products and taking complex offerings to market.
  • Experience developing compelling sales narratives and enablement for complex, multi-stakeholder sales.
  • Excellent strategic judgment, with the ability to determine what the market needs to hear, why it matters, and how PQShield should say it.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment where you will often need to create the narrative before the market has established one.

What we can offer you

  • A competitive compensation package.
  • Share options.
  • A remote first company. You will work from home most of the time, but will need to join us in the office for planning sessions and key meetings as required.
  • Travel for customer meetings and marketing events as needed.
  • Health insurance.
  • Generous PTO and holiday package.
  • Company contributions towards 401K/pension
  • …and other great benefits.

If you enjoy working as part of a technology company, value the security of our daily digital lives, and love solving hard problems - then we’d love to hear from you.
