Job description

We have an opening for a Credit Specialist to be based at our offices in Ellerslie who will focus on the collection of all rental and toll invoices from large corporate Insurance Accounts across the APAC Region .

Reporting to the Account Services Team Leader, you will handle a portfolio of one of our largest areas of risk to cashflow and will be responsible for liaising with all stakeholders and customers in relation to resolution processes and service delivery.

The role is also responsible for assisting the Accounts Services Team Leader with accurate, reliable, and timely monthly financial reporting of the status of all overdue debt on the ledger at the end of the month.


Key Accountabilities:


  • Accurate monitoring of outstanding debt and regular Credit Control of all portfolio accounts
  • Communicating regularly with all Credit Facility account holders
  • Management and update of all Account Administration databases
  • Investigate, negotiate and settle disputes/queries within delegated authority.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant policies, systems, standards and reporting requirements.
  • Liaise effectively with stakeholders, consultants and agents.
  • To provide the first point of contact for customer escalation and service complaints resolving the reported issue(s).
  • Provide a high level of customer service and professionalism to ABG customers, internal and external, promoting a positive customer service ethos and attitude.
  • Communicating effectively through both written correspondence and over the phone.
  • Respond to customer correspondence and telephone enquiries or complaints in a timely and exemplary manner.
  • Produce regular and accurate reporting on all outstanding debt on the assigned portfolio
  • Fully comply with all Health and Safety requirements, including reporting all accidents, near accidents and hazards.
  • Other duties as reasonably assigned by the management team and the company.

So, what are we looking for?


Previous experience in credit control with experience in dispute resolution and negotiation preferably within the travel and tourism industry.


Significant MS Office Suite knowledge and experience will be required and experience with Wizard and/or Oracle will be seen as highly advantageous.


Besides the above you will need to have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to deal with all management levels to provide efficient and fair outcomes in claims. 


You will also need to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail especially where there can be change and uncertainty. In addition you will need to use your initiative to solve problems, set priorities, and meet deadlines.


Please note there may be a need for you to work weekends when they fall at month/year end.
