Job description

About Laurel Employment Law

We are not your traditional law firm. Laurel Employment Law is a fully remote, tech-driven plaintiff's firm that's redefining how employment law is practiced. We're a team of smart, ambitious litigators who collaborate to deliver outstanding results for our clients — and we have fun doing it! We use cutting-edge legal tech to eliminate inefficiencies, empower autonomy, and give our attorneys the freedom to focus on what matters: winning for our clients and building meaningful careers. If you thrive in a high-performance, growth-oriented culture and want to do your best work without commuting, micromanagement, or outdated systems, this is the place for you.

The Role

We're looking for a winner — a rising Employment Litigation Attorney who's hungry to deliver results, grow quickly, and play a key role in a modern, remote law firm that's scaling quickly. You'll manage your own caseload, leveraging technology, strategy, and teamwork to deliver winning outcomes for employees who've been wronged. You will be judged by your results, not office politics. Join us, embrace The Laurel Way, and you will win like never before.

The Culture Laurel is built differently. We started the Firm asking an important question, "what if it didn't have to suck to work at a law firm? In fact, what if it could be kind of awesome?" The result is an award-winning culture where we take the work seriously without ever taking ourselves too seriously. We've built a team of winners who work together to get more done, more efficiently, while leaving opposing counsel asking themselves, "how the heck did they do that?" We win and we have fun doing it. It's a better way to practice
The Laurel Way

Laurel is built on a foundation of 3 unique competitive advantages: Technology, Culture, and a Shared Services model that relieves you of the most arduous parts of the job. Imagine having fully drafted demand letters, complaints, discovery requests, discovery responses, and depo notices available to you at a click of a button produced at near-instantaneous speed. Our attorneys get more done, in less time, with far less aggravation. That means more time back in your day to be used in a high-impact way while putting the joy back into your practice of law.

What You'll Do
  • Own your cases from start to finish in a supportive, fully remote environment.

  • Draft pleadings, discovery, motions, and mediation briefs using our cloud-based systems.

  • Argue motions, take and defend depositions, and prepare for trial.

  • Drive strategy and make key case decisions with autonomy and impact.

  • Use our integrated tech tools to communicate, collaborate, and track performance.

  • Negotiate powerfully to achieve life-changing results for our clients.

  • Deliver a five-star client experience every time — we care as much as we fight.

  • Pathway to Senior Counsel as you grow your caseload and track record.

Your Skills & Mindset
  • Licensed and in good standing with the California State Bar.

  • 2–5 years of experience in California employment litigation.

  • Superb research, writing, and analytical ability.

  • Creative, strategic thinker who thrives in a remote-first, tech-savvy team.

  • Able to manage a large caseload while staying organized and proactive.

  • Motivated, ambitious, radically optimistic and driven to grow your income and your career.

Why Laurel
  • Fully Remote — work from anywhere in California with world-class collaboration tools.

  • Tech-Enabled Efficiency — we use automation, dashboards, and smart systems so you can focus on lawyering, not admin.

  • Culture That Wins Together — no egos, no bureaucracy — just sharp, driven people who push and support each other.

  • Uncapped Compensation Potential — base range $160k - $185k plus uncapped bonuses based on performance

  • Paid time off, holidays, health insurance, referral bonuses, and real opportunities for advancement.
