Accounting Assistant - Nicaragua

This is a remote position.

Cloud5 Accounting is a growing, cloud-based accounting firm that provides virtual bookkeeping and controller services to small businesses across the United States. We help business owners gain financial clarity, save time, and make better financial decisions.

We are looking for an Accounting Assistant to join our Accounting Operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is beginning or building their accounting career and wants to gain hands-on experience working with U.S. businesses in a technology-driven, fully remote environment.

What You'll Do

As an Accounting Assistant, you'll support our accounting teams with day-to-day bookkeeping and administrative tasks that help keep client accounts accurate and organized.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Entering financial data and maintaining accurate accounting records.
  
• Assisting with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) transactions.
  
• Supporting account and bank reconciliation activities.
  
• Organizing and maintaining client documents and accounting records.
  
• Assisting with bookkeeping and accounting-related projects.
  
• Reviewing information for accuracy and following established processes.
  
• Tracking assigned tasks and meeting deadlines using our task management systems.
  
• Providing administrative support to the accounting team.
  
• Participating in team meetings and client calls when needed.
  
• Assisting with process documentation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  
• Collaborating with team members to provide accurate and timely service to our clients.
  

Requirements

What We're Looking For

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or currently pursuing a degree.
  
• Some experience with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, bookkeeping, or accounting is preferred but not required.
  
• Comfortable working with accounting software and technology.
  
• Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new software quickly.
  
• Advanced English proficiency (C1–C2), both written and verbal.
  
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
  
• Ability to follow processes while also asking questions when something is unclear.
  
• Reliable and proactive approach to completing assigned work.
  
• Ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment.
  
• Reliable internet connection of at least 10 Mbps.
  
• Your own computer/laptop suitable for remote work.
  
• Must be located in Nicaragua.
  

Experience With These Tools Is a Plus

Experience with any of the following is helpful, but not required:

• QuickBooks Online (QBO)
  
• AppFolio
  
• Google Workspace
  
• Accounting or bookkeeping platforms
  
• Task management software
