We have been recognized by Business Insider as a Power Player Changing the Game in Retail Pricing & Analytics, have been recognized by leading independent analyst and advisory firm, IDC, as the "leader" in the price optimization space, and on Inc. Magazine's Top 5000 fastest growing private companies in the US for the 9th year in a row as of 2024. It is estimated that fewer than 50 companies have ever been recognized for 7 consecutive years. This recognition comes on the heels of our $35 million Series C financing from retail technology-focused venture capitalists. Our Founders are serial entrepreneurs - their first company, KhiMetrics, is credited with creating the retail price optimization industry and was ultimately acquired by SAP in 2006. Now we're targeting a larger opportunity on our vision to bring human values into the pricing equation via personalized pricing, health, and wellness.

Job description

FP&A Manager

The FP&A Manager connects our financial results to the commercial and operating drivers behind them including revenue growth, customer retention, cost-to-serve, and liquidity, so leadership can make confident decisions about how we grow.

Position Overview

Engage3 collects store-level pricing data at scale and delivers recurring subscription and data services, operating across multiple entities and currencies with NetSuite as its financial system of record and Salesforce as its customer relationship management platform. The FP&A Manager will own Engage3’s core planning, forecasting, and management reporting cadence. This is a full-time, hands-on individual contributor role for a finance professional who can run the recurring FP&A cycle while improving the models, controls, and reporting that support it.

Own the planning, forecasting, and management reporting cadence that connects financial results with commercial and operating drivers, giving leadership a reliable view of performance, risks, and opportunities.

We are looking for a detail-oriented finance professional with strong modeling skills and the sound judgment to delay or challenge a number when the supporting data is incomplete or inconsistent. This role partners closely with Accounting, Sales, Customer Success, Operations, and senior leadership, and must be able to explain financial conclusions clearly to non-finance leaders and defend the analysis behind them.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning, Forecasting & Modeling:
    • Own the monthly planning and forecasting cycle, including model updates, forecast refreshes, and leadership reporting.
    • Maintain an integrated, driver-based operating model that connects revenue, operating expenses, the balance sheet, cash flow, and key business metrics across multiple entities and currencies.
    • Develop scenario and sensitivity analyses covering growth, retention, pricing, cost structure, cash requirements, and other decisions led by the CFO and executive team.
  • Management Reporting & Close Partnership:
    • Prepare the monthly management reporting package, including results versus plan and prior forecast, clear variance explanations, key performance indicators, and an updated financial outlook.
    • Partner with Accounting following each close to align management reporting with the general ledger and reconcile cash, debt, revenue, and other material balances before results are distributed.
  • Commercial & Business Partnership:
    • Work with Sales and Customer Success to evaluate pipeline quality, bookings, contract value, recurring revenue, renewals, churn, expansion, and customer concentration using Salesforce and supporting contract data.
    • Provide financial guidance to functional leaders, test operating assumptions, and translate business decisions into expected financial outcomes.
  • Process Improvement & Strategic Finance:
    • Improve FP&A processes, data controls, and reporting automation while maintaining clear ownership, version control, and review standards for management information.
    • Support board, lender, investor, audit, and other strategic finance work with timely, accurate analysis and materials.

Qualifications

  • 5 to 7 years of progressive experience in FP&A, financial analysis, corporate finance, audit, or a closely related discipline, including ownership of a complete monthly or quarterly planning and reporting cycle.
  • Strong financial modeling skills, including driver-based forecasting, scenario analysis, and a working understanding of the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement.
  • Advanced Excel skills and the discipline to build transparent, well-controlled models that another finance professional can review and maintain.
  • Hands-on experience using NetSuite for reporting, trial-balance and subledger analysis, and multi-subsidiary financial information.
  • Strong Salesforce reporting skills and a practical understanding of how opportunities, contracts, amendments, upsells, and renewals affect pipeline and recurring revenue reporting.
  • Experience reconciling customer relationship management data with contracted, billed, and recognized revenue and explaining the source of differences.
  • Experience with multi-entity and multi-currency reporting or consolidation.
  • Sound judgment, close attention to detail, and the confidence to delay or challenge a number when the supporting data is incomplete or inconsistent.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain financial conclusions to non-finance leaders and defend the analysis behind them.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing deadlines, and remain effective in a growing business with evolving processes.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with recurring-revenue metrics such as annual recurring revenue, gross and net retention, expansion, customer acquisition cost payback, and cohort performance.
  • Background in a data, analytics, software, or information services business where cost-to-serve is an important operating driver.
  • Experience supporting an audit or preparing a company for its first financial statement audit.
  • Exposure to Salesforce CPQ, products and price books, subscription or contract objects, dashboards, or Salesforce-to-ERP integrations.
