Handsome Brook Farms

Agriculture & Farming

We're cracking the way America eats - a dozen eggs at a time. The industry leaders in organic, pasture-raised eggs, Handsome Brook Farms is on the forefront of the movement away from big factory farming and back to small family farming. For Handsome Brook, organic and pastured is the convention, meaning our hens are treated well, our farmers are paid fairly, and our eggs taste like eggs should taste. At Handsome Brook Farms, we've built a network of small family farms to bring fresh, high quality, organic, pasture raised eggs to supermarkets and tables across the country. Our unique system treats hens well, giving them American Humane certified 108.9 sqft of space per hen, so they can forage, flap, wander and dust bathe to their little hearts content. As a result, our hens produce fantastically flavorful and nutritious eggs. A great egg means our small farmers get a much better price for their hard work. Plus, using organic land and organic supplemental feed means our entire process is better for our planet, too. That's better for the hens, better for the farmers - and better for our consumers. Talk about a win-win-win. We are proud to take a modern approach to traditional farming methods. We encourage you to give our eggs a try - you'll notice the difference and won't go back. And together, we'll crack the food system. Job description

This is a field-based position that travels locally to farms. When not on farms, they will work from a home office.

*Role is not Arkansas-specific, Oklahoma and Missouri applicants will also be considered.*

Handsome Brook Farms is a pioneer in pasture-raised organic egg production. Founded in upstate New York with just five hens, we have grown into the nation's leading producer of organic pasture-raised eggs. Dedicated to acting handsomely in all aspects, Handsome Brook Farms is committed to treating farmers, animals, and the land with the utmost respect and upholding the highest standards of social and environmental performance. Our mission is to provide a clean, responsibly-raised source of protein that consumers can trust -- from coop to carton.

In 2022, we acquired The Farmer’s Hen, expanding our grower network and diversifying our products.
In 2023, HBF Foods was established because we aspired to be more than a shell-egg company. As stewards of resources at every level, we have created revolutionary Certified Upcycled egg-based dairy-free dips & yogurts.
In 2024, we started building our own Company Farms -- increasing our connection to the farms and land.
And in 2025, we expanded operations with the opening of our own grading facilities, bringing egg grading and packing in-house.
Owning every aspect of the egg lifecycle allows us to ensure that each step of the process reflects our commitment to sustainability and animal welfare.

We are currently looking for a Flock Advisor to join the team servicing farms in our Arkansas region. This role functions as a main resource to our producers; you'll work directly with them to support flock performance and day-to-day farm operations. As a Flock Advisor, you’ll regularly visit assigned farms, monitor production and flock conditions, help identify and resolve concerns, and provide ongoing guidance. You’ll work closely with Live Operations, Feed, Compliance, and Sustainability to keep farms operating in line with HBF expectations. The position may include, but is not limited to:

  • Farm & Producer Support: Build strong working relationships with producers through regular on-farm visits, ongoing guidance, and hands-on support throughout the flock cycle, including new flock placements and transitions
  • Production Monitoring & Reporting: Collect and review key production data, including feed and water consumption, bird and case weights, and environmental readings; maintain accurate production reports and communicate trends or concerns requiring attention
  • Feed Management: Coordinate feed ordering for assigned farms, monitor consumption, and work with the Feed team to address quality, usage, or performance concerns
  • Compliance & Biosecurity: Oversee biosecurity, organic, pasture-raised, and animal welfare requirements; support on-farm audits and work directly with producers to address non-compliance and ensure appropriate follow-up
  • New Producer & Flock Support: Help onboard new producers, including barn and certification readiness, and provide on-site support during new flock placements, repopulations, and depopulations
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Regularly review production, feed, pasture, and compliance matters with department leads and coordinate follow-up as needed

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with poultry (preferably layers) or on farms
  • Experience with Excel, Dropbox, Gmail, and Google Calendar
  • Highly organized
  • Ability to effectively manage time. There are many moving parts to this position and little supervision, self-discipline is a must.
  • Quick problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Team player with a positive attitude and collaborative approach to work
  • High degree of initiative
  • Knowledge of animal welfare standards and biosecurity, and state/federal agriculture/farming regulations and standards
