Job description

About the Role 

To support U.S Urology by providing claims processing and precertification for the organization.   

What You’ll Be Doing 

  • Coordinates authorizations and benefits with third parties for visits, procedures, surgeries, medications, imaging, lab and any other treatments that are ordered 
  • Verifies eligibility and requests authorizations for various medical orders 
  • Calculates, communicates with patients and collects co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance, previous balances or other money owed  
  • Maintains files for contacts and phone numbers for third party communication  
  • Prepares and sends Good Faith Estimates to self pay patients in accordance with the No Surprises Act
  • Handles problem referrals with third party and coordinates solution with clinical unit, patient and referral provider 
  • Coordinating with physician, clinical staff, insurances, and patients to obtain the authorization  
  • Other duties as assigned  

What We Expect from You 

  • Two (2) years of experience in Precertification in a medical practice or medical organization (will substitute educational experience for on the job experience) 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Benefits or claims processing skills and electronic medical records experience  

Reasoning Ability  

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. 

Computer Skills 

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have thorough knowledge in computer information systems.
