Job description

On behalf of our client, a growing provider of architectural and LED lighting solutions for commercial, residential, and institutional projects, we're hiring an Estimator to join their team. Our client partners closely with designers, contractors, and developers to bring lighting concepts from design to delivery.

Position Summary

The Estimator prepares accurate, competitive quotations for lighting fixtures, LED systems, and controls — reading technical drawings and specifications, pricing packages, and working closely with suppliers, sales, and project teams to get every bid right and on time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review project drawings, specifications, and lighting schedules

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and quotations for lighting packages

  • Perform quantity take-offs and product selection based on design intent

  • Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to obtain pricing and lead times

  • Value-engineer solutions to meet budget requirements without compromising design

  • Collaborate with sales, project management, and design teams

  • Maintain and update pricing databases and estimating tools

  • Respond to bid requests and meet tight deadlines

  • Clarify project scope and flag potential risks or gaps early

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years of experience in similar positions (estimating in lighting, electrical, construction, or manufacturing)

  • Advanced spoken English — able to communicate fluently with suppliers, manufacturers, and teams abroad

  • Strong Excel skills; comfortable with estimating software or ERP/pricing tools

  • Highly analytical and detail-oriented — a missed line item shows up as margin lost later

  • Able to manage multiple active quotes and bid deadlines at once without losing accuracy

  • Clear written and verbal communication — this role talks daily with suppliers, manufacturers, sales, and project teams

  • Comfortable working independently and flagging ambiguity instead of guessing

What We Offer

  • Contract Type: Independent contractor | Monthly salary | USD payment

  • Work Arrangement: Remote across Argentina. For candidates based in CABA/GBA, the role starts remote, with a CABA office planned for the near future; coworking options may also be available for those based in the interior.

  • PTO: 2 weeks of vacation per year + Canadian (Quebec) holidays + Jewish holidays

  • Work Schedule: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Argentina time), with a 1-hour lunch break

Why Join?

  • A company in rapid growth with real market momentum

  • Clear pathways for career growth
