Impacto Talent is hiring on behalf of a fast-growing North American manufacturer of commercial and industrial LED lighting.
The Company designs and specifies indoor and architectural LED lighting for commercial, hospitality, retail, institutional, industrial, and high-end residential projects. We partner with architects, designers, engineers, distributors, and end clients, combining product expertise, photometric design, and controls integration to deliver complete, specification-grade lighting packages from concept through commissioning.
A hands-on, client-facing position for someone who can run a lighting project independently — from early concept through calculations, specification, submittals, mockups, and on-site commissioning — while acting as the team's senior technical reference. You'll also help set the design standards and workflows the rest of the team follows, and mentor junior designers as we grow.
Own lighting design end to end on assigned projects: concept, photometric calculations (DIALux evo), specification, submittals, mockups, and commissioning support.
Develop luminaire specs, layouts, and control strategies (DALI, DMX, 0–10V, wireless, tunable white), aligned with IES standards and applicable energy codes.
Support sales with product selection, take-offs, technical RFP responses, and manufacturer comparisons.
Review shop drawings, submittals, and POs for technical accuracy; represent the design in client and engineering meetings.
Set and maintain internal design standards, templates, and QA processes; review the work of junior designers and partners, and mentor the team as it grows.
Produce renderings and visual studies to communicate design intent.
Professional English required; French and/or Spanish a plus depending on market.
Degree in architecture, interior design, electrical/lighting engineering, or equivalent experience; 5–8+ years in lighting design or specification, ideally indoor/architectural.
A portfolio of projects you personally designed or specified.
Proficiency in DIALux evo (required); AGi32/Relux, AutoCAD/Revit, and IES/energy-code knowledge are strong pluses.
Working knowledge of lighting controls (DALI, DMX, 0–10V, wireless).
Strong written and verbal communication — comfortable presenting technical concepts to clients and design professionals.
Highly organized, detail-oriented self-starter, able to run multiple projects and, ideally, a small design team.
Industry accreditation (LC, WELL AP, LEED AP, P.Eng., IES membership) strongly preferred at this level.
You're the go-to person for the hardest technical applications.
Photometric studies, specs, and submittal reviews follow one consistent standard you defined.
Clients and specifiers request you by name.
Design package turnaround is faster, with measurably less submittal rework.
Real ownership as the senior lighting design authority — not one voice among many.
Direct involvement in visible architectural projects, concept through commissioning.
The chance to build out — and eventually lead — the lighting design function as the company grows.
Exposure to an international portfolio and a multicultural team.
Support toward professional accreditation (IES, LC, WELL, LEED).
Flexible/hybrid arrangements and competitive, experience-based compensation.
100% remote
Salary paid in USD
2 weeks of paid vacation
US public holidays
