Position Summary:

The Software Engineer V (SE V) is a senior technical leader operating with a full-stack SDE mental model, working collaboratively with engineering and product teams to design, develop, and deliver complex solutions within the InEight Inspect ecosystem — a multi-tenant SaaS platform used by contractors and owners to manage field inspections, quality, and safety workflows.

This role has a deliberately evolving scope, with focus shifting across three horizons:

  1. Now – New Feature Delivery: Design, build, and ship new capabilities on the Inspect roadmap, working across the full stack (ASP.NET Web API, Angular, Azure).
  2. Next – Platform Modernization: Lead and contribute to the .NET 10 migration and related modernization work (EF Core, Angular upgrades) as the Inspect codebase transitions forward.
  3. Then – InEight Advisor / Agentic Journey: Help build MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers and tooling that connect Inspect's domain and data to AI agents, directly contributing to the InEight Advisor initiative and the broader agentic engineering journey.

The ideal candidate thinks like a Software Design Engineer (SDE) — treating testability, automation, and quality as first-class engineering concerns — and is energized by a role that changes shape as priorities evolve, rather than a single, static lane.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and deliver scalable, cloud-based software solutions across the InEight Inspect platform using .NET, Angular, and Azure technologies.
  • Lead technical design, architecture discussions, and implementation planning for new product capabilities in partnership with Product, UX, and Engineering teams.
  • Drive platform modernization initiatives, including .NET, Angular, and application architecture upgrades, while balancing ongoing feature delivery.
  • Champion engineering excellence through code reviews, testing strategies, CI/CD best practices, performance optimization, and maintainable software design.
  • Design and implement integrations with Azure services and emerging AI technologies to support product innovation and future platform capabilities.
  • Mentor and guide engineers, fostering technical growth, collaboration, and high-quality delivery across the team.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, UX, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver reliable, customer-focused solutions in an Agile environment.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues, manage technical debt, and contribute to the long-term scalability, security, and quality of the platform.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of software development experience, including 6+ years in senior, lead, or principal engineering roles.
  • Strong expertise in C#, ASP.NET, .NET technologies, and modern web application development.
  • 5+ years of experience designing and building cloud-based solutions in Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (Angular preferred), TypeScript, and responsive web application development.
  • Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, SQL Server, and scalable SaaS application architectures.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, source control, and automated testing practices.
  • Proven ability to design, deliver, and support complex enterprise software solutions at scale.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills, with experience mentoring engineers and driving architectural decisions.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and help lead modernization initiatives, including cloud, platform, and development tool advancements.
