Job description

Job Title:         Enterprise Data Administrator

Location:         Remote

Start Date:      Immediate

About Gateway:

Gateway Fiber is seeking an Enterprise Data Platform Administrator to own and operate our enterprise data platform, with primary responsibility for Microsoft Fabric, the enterprise Lakehouse, data pipelines, governance, Power BI data models, and supporting SQL Server environments. Gateway Fiber is a locally owned and operated internet service provider on a mission to positively impact communities through better internet. Gateway is creating a leading, national fiber-to-the-home platform. With the support of its financial sponsor CBRE Investment Management, Gateway plans to reach 500,000 homes and businesses with its service over the next several years. Gateway provides faster, more reliable internet with a simple pricing model and industry-leading customer service.

Gateway’s Beliefs About People:

Gateway believes that people want to know they are cared for both professionally and personally at work. We all share a clear vision of where the company is going and how our contributions positively affect our culture and operational performance. At Gateway, we lookout for each other and actively find ways to help one another. We all have a role in defining the path forward towards the company’s vision. We strive for a transparent environment where information is readily shared and our teams feel safe to share feedback, even if it might seem unpopular.  Someone in the right role with the tools to succeed can operate autonomously to meet their objectives. Gateway’s beliefs about people shape the company and the way we do business.

Expected Outcomes and Requirements:

Gateway Fiber is seeking an Enterprise Data Platform Administrator to own and operate our enterprise data platform, with primary responsibility for Microsoft Fabric, the enterprise Lakehouse, data pipelines, governance, Power BI data models, and supporting SQL Server environments.

This is a hands-on owner/operator role. The right person will take ownership of an actively developing platform, turn raw enterprise data into trusted Gold datasets, and make those datasets usable across the business for reporting, analytics, decision-making, and future AI use cases.

This is not a hands-off management role. We are looking for someone who enjoys building, coding, troubleshooting, improving standards, and working directly with business teams to understand what data they need and how it should be delivered.

The Enterprise Data Administrator is expected to contribute in the following significant ways:

  • Own and administer Gateway Fiber’s Microsoft Fabric environment, including Lake houses, Warehouses, One Lake, Data Factory, and related data engineering workloads.
  • Manage the enterprise Lakehouse and Medallion Architecture, including Bronze, Silver, and Gold data layers.
  • Build, maintain, and improve ETL/ELT pipelines that transform source-system data into trusted, business-ready datasets.
  • Publish and govern Gold datasets that analysts and business teams can confidently use for reporting and analytics.
  • Support Power BI semantic models, datasets, and reporting performance.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, analysts, IT, and vendors to define data needs, improve quality, and drive adoption.
  • Provide SQL Server database administration support for GIS and other enterprise systems, including monitoring, maintenance, backups, and performance tuning.
