Job description

Avenga is an international engineering firm helping businesses operate with AI at the core. With 6,000+ experts worldwide, we combine engineering expertise with AI-native thinking to turn ambitious ideas into real-world impact across industries, technologies, and markets.

At the core of the role

We are actively seeking a professional to strengthen our team as a Middle DevOps Engineer. In this role, you will support the development and operation of a cloud-based automation platform, focusing on infrastructure automation, cloud services, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and platform reliability. Working closely with engineering and business teams, you will help deliver secure, scalable, and production-ready solutions that drive automation and operational efficiency.

Core skills you’ll bring

  • 3–5 years of experience as a Software, Platform, or Data Engineer in production environments.

  • Strong Python skills, including backend and API development.

  • Practical experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred — ECS, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, IAM; Azure or GCP equivalents accepted).

  • Hands-on Infrastructure-as-Code experience (Terraform preferred).

  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, ECS, Kubernetes).

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins).

  • Solid understanding of REST API integration and authentication patterns (OAuth2/OIDC, certificates/mTLS, secrets management).

  • Strong communication and documentation skills in English — this role involves substantial cross-team coordination.

Nice-to-have

  • Hands-on experience with n8n or other workflow-automation and orchestration tools.

  • Experience with API gateways.

  • SQL and data modeling.

  • Telecom domain knowledge.

The impact you'll create

  • Build and operate cloud infrastructure for an internal automation platform using Infrastructure-as-Code.

  • Develop backend services and APIs in Python that integrate internal and third-party systems.

  • Design and deliver automation workflows for customer-communication use cases.

  • Apply best practices for CI/CD, testing, observability, security, and access management.

  • Contribute to security reviews and compliance documentation needed to bring products to production.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across teams to align requirements, API contracts, and platform onboarding.

People are at the core of Avenga. We provide equal opportunities regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, religion, or any other characteristic. We are committed to a respectful environment where everyone can be themselves, share their ideas, and feel that they belong.
