Payroll Consultant (Contract): Canada and/or UK Payroll on ADP
Remote | Part-time contract | Immediate Start | 10-30 Hrs/week

Melita Group is an HR outsourcing firm based in San Jose, California. It is part of Allvia, a platform of HR services companies. We provide integrated HR, payroll, benefits administration, leave of absence administration and HR compliance services to small and mid-market employers. As our clients grow internationally, we're adding contract payroll specialists who can run in-country payroll for their employees in Canada and the United Kingdom.

About the role
We're hiring for two specialties and may engage two separate consultants. You don't need experience in both countries. Please apply for the one that fits you, or both if you have done both:

  • Canada track: hands-on experience processing Canadian payroll on the ADP Workforce Now Canada technology platform
  • UK track: hands-on experience processing UK payroll on the ADP iHCM technology platform

You'll work with Melita's Global Payroll Services Manager to process payrolls for multiple clients in each country.


What you'll do
  • Process recurring and off-cycle payrolls from start to finish in ADP WFN/iHCM, including inputs, validation, approvals and final submission
  • Review payroll registers, reconcile results, and fix variances before funds are released
  • Make sure statutory deductions, filings and remittances are accurate and on time
  • Handle new hires, terminations, final pay, and changes to pay and deductions
  • Support quarter-end and year-end processing
  • Answer client and employee payroll questions clearly and quickly
  • Point out compliance risks and any upcoming legislative changes that affect our clients

Required experience & engagement details

Canada track: required experience

  • At least 3 years processing Canadian payroll, with recent hands-on work in ADP Workforce Now Canada platform
  • Solid knowledge of CPP/QPP, EI, federal and provincial income tax, and employer health taxes
  • Year-end experience with T4 and T4A forms, plus Records of Employment (ROE)
  • Quebec payroll experience, including RL-1 and QPIP, is strongly preferred
  • PCP or CPM designation from the National Payroll Institute is preferred
  • UK track: required experience

    • At least 3 years processing UK payroll, with recent hands-on work in ADP iHCM platform
    • Solid knowledge of PAYE, National Insurance and RTI submissions (FPS/EPS) to HMRC
    • Experience with pension auto-enrolment, statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP), student loan deductions and attachment of earnings
    • Year-end experience with P60, P11D and P45 forms
    • CIPP qualification is preferred

      • Clear written and spoken communication with clients and internal teams
      • Comfort working on your own, remotely, across time zones that overlap with US Pacific time

        • Estimated 10-30 hours per week, which may vary with payroll cycles and year-end
