Job description

InRule Technology®, Inc. is a PE-backed SaaS company with hundreds of customers in more than 40 countries. Our integrated Decision Intelligence Platform (DIP) combines decisioning, process automation, and machine learning to help IT and business leaders make better decisions faster, operationalize AI, and improve complex processes.

We are trusted by some of the world’s largest banks, insurance companies, healthcare organizations, and governments for mission-critical applications. By making automation accessible, InRule increases productivity, drives revenue, and delivers exceptional business outcomes.

About the role

At InRule Technology, we revolutionize the way organizations in more than 40 countries worldwide make mission-critical decisions by infusing cutting-edge technology into their processes. Some of the largest banks, insurance companies, healthcare organizations, and governments rely on InRule to deliver frictionless, intuitive solutions that provide the power of computing without the complexity of programming.

InRule Technology is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join our growing team of experts operating our decision intelligence platform. You'll design, implement, and support the infrastructure, tooling, and automation that keep our cloud services performant, reliable, and scalable — collaborating closely with our developers and architects. Security is built into how our team operates day to day, so we're looking for someone ready to get hands-on with implementing security controls and secure infrastructure practices as part of core SRE work.

What you'll do

  • Design, implement, and manage the tools used to develop, deploy, monitor, and support our cloud infrastructure and services using Azure DevOps, PowerShell, Bicep/ARM templates, and other DevOps tooling
  • Define and track SLIs/SLOs for the services you support, using error budgets to help balance reliability work against feature velocity
  • Monitor and troubleshoot cloud resources and applications using our observability stack
  • Participate in on-call rotation, troubleshooting and resolving incidents while collaborating with development and IT teams to minimize downtime and maintain service quality
  • Automate and optimize processes to improve the efficiency and reliability of our cloud operations
  • Monitor and analyze cloud resource usage to identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code (Bicep/OpenTofu) for our Azure environment
  • Support the ongoing shift away from manual, portal-driven changes toward GitOps-based workflows
  • Support the deployment and configuration of InRule products and solutions, recommending changes to application architecture or design to improve security, performance and efficiency
  • Implement security controls in our Azure environment (e.g., access management, secure baseline configurations, monitoring)
  • Participate in and support initiatives like least-privilege access rollout, just-in-time elevation (Azure PIM), and infrastructure drift detection
  • Assist with onboarding or tuning of security scanning (SAST, DAST, SCA) into CI/CD pipelines
  • Bring a security-conscious mindset to day-to-day operations and infrastructure decisions
  • Design and deploy agentic workflows to automate and optimize processes such as release change tracking, vulnerability triage, and incident response.

What we’re looking for

  • Required
    • 5+ years of experience in cloud operations, site reliability engineering, or DevOps
    • Strong knowledge of core cloud services (compute, serverless, managed databases, storage, secrets management) on a major cloud platform — AWS, Azure, or GCP
    • Experience with PowerShell, and other scripting or development languages (SQL, Python, C#, JavaScript, etc.)
    • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as OpenTofu, Bicep/ARM, or Pulumi
    • Direct experience with at least one major observability platform (Datadog, New Relic, ELK, Prometheus/Loki/Grafana) and OpenTelemetry-based instrumentation
    • Strong DevOps fundamentals and CI/CD experience (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or equivalent)
    • Experience with Linux operating systems and related tooling such as Docker and Kubernetes
    • Willingness to take ownership of security-adjacent tasks as they come up, treating them as a natural part of the role
  • Preferred
    • Experience with Azure Cloud (Functions, Container Solutions, SQL Database, Storage, Key Vault, &c.)
    • Hands on experience with Azure security tooling (Entra ID, Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, Azure Policy)
    • Background operating in a regulated environment (SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA)
    • Experience with Networking, DNS, VPC, and database operations and concepts
  • Nice to Have
    • Exposure to Windows Server and IIS configuration and maintenance
    • Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef

Location

Remote US Eastern Time zone (Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship), or Göteborg, Sweden (Remote within Sweden considered; Göteborg preferred, where our office is located)

What we offer

  • Competitive compensation and benefits.
  • Flexible work environment.
  • The opportunity to build and shape a premium support function with measurable customer impact.
  • A collaborative culture with close partnership across Support, Engineering, Product, and Customer Success.
  • Professional growth within a scaling SaaS organization.
