Job description

Position Overview


As a License Compliance Inside Sales Representative, you will manage a high volume of License Compliance leads and opportunities from qualification through commercial closure. You will collaborate with Autodesk Sales teams, Channel Partners, Legal, and other members of the License Compliance team to address software compliance matters.

Your primary responsibility will be to engage customers and users regarding potential compliance matters and guide them toward appropriate commercial resolutions. You will manage a range of customer compliance engagements, including warning letters and audit activities, while focusing on resolving compliance matters and maintaining positive customer relationships.

You will also be responsible for achieving and forecasting quarterly and annual License Compliance sales targets within your assigned territory. You will report to the Senior License Compliance Manager and work in a hybrid environment.


Responsibilities


  • Execute the License Compliance strategy to meet and exceed Annual Contract Value (ACV) and billings targets
  • Develop and execute an annual License Compliance territory sales plan to support fiscal year objectives
  • Strategically manage License Compliance leads and opportunities across Strategic Territory and broader Territory accounts
  • Identify and capture sales opportunities using anti-piracy telemetry and analytics to identify existing or prospective customers with under-licensed Autodesk software
  • Help customers determine and purchase the appropriate level of Autodesk software licenses to resolve compliance matters
  • Manage customers through the audit process, including executive-level audit notification, collection of deployment data, presentation of audit findings, escalation where required, negotiation, and commercial resolution
  • Facilitate challenging conversations and negotiations confidently and professionally with C-level customer stakeholders
  • Apply critical thinking to communicate compliance issues clearly while working toward positive and mutually acceptable commercial outcomes
  • Develop and maintain strong knowledge of Autodesk software licensing models, license agreements, and contracts, serving as a subject matter expert in these areas
  • Maintain working knowledge of Autodesk products, competitive offerings, industry trends, and customer project delivery methods
  • Apply an understanding of the legal compliance framework and exercise sound judgment based on the circumstances of each customer engagement
  • Use Autodesk License Compliance analytics tools and databases to investigate and qualify potential compliance opportunities
  • Effectively address complex customer concerns and objections related to software compliance matters
  • Drive direct commercial closures where customers understand how outstanding compliance exposure can be resolved through investment in appropriate Autodesk software and technologies
  • Use Salesforce Customer Relationship Management (Salesforce CRM) to accurately track leads, opportunities, customer activities, pipeline, and results
  • Collaborate with Territory Sales teams and Value-Added Resellers (VARs), where appropriate, to identify expansion and upselling opportunities arising from License Compliance engagements
  • Develop, execute, and monitor License Compliance campaigns
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts and pipeline visibility for assigned License Compliance opportunities

Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in customer-facing sales roles
  • Demonstrated experience managing customer conversations, negotiations, and commercial opportunities
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to evaluate customer situations and determine appropriate courses of action
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with senior customer stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple leads, opportunities, and customer engagements simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Sales, Legal, Channel Partners, and other cross-functional stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications


  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent advanced qualification
  • Experience in License Compliance, software sales, Inside Sales, account management, or a related commercial role
  • Knowledge of software licensing models, license agreements, and commercial contracts
  • Experience working with Salesforce Customer Relationship Management (Salesforce CRM) or similar sales management platforms
  • Experience engaging and negotiating with executive and C-level stakeholders
  • Experience working with Channel Partners or Value-Added Resellers (VARs)
  • Familiarity with software compliance, audit processes, or intellectual property protection
  • Experience working in a technology or Software as a Service (SaaS) organization

  • Approaches challenging customer situations from different perspectives and develops practical, commercially viable solutions
  • Communicates sensitive compliance matters clearly and professionally while maintaining productive customer relationships
  • Demonstrates confidence and resilience when negotiating with senior executives and addressing complex customer objections
  • Takes ownership of opportunities from initial investigation through negotiation and successful commercial closure
  • Uses knowledge of Autodesk products, services, licensing models, and customer needs to identify appropriate solutions and expansion opportunities
  • Builds effective relationships with Sales, Legal, Channel Partners, senior internal stakeholders, and customer decision-makers
  • Works independently on day-to-day responsibilities while seeking guidance at critical points or when navigating unusual situations
  • Maintains strong pipeline discipline, forecast accuracy, and accountability for achieving quarterly and annual sales objectives
  • Applies creativity and sound commercial judgment when resolving complex customer and licensing challenges
  • Shares knowledge and may serve as a resource or mentor to colleagues with less experience
