Data Scientist/Analyst - Advana/Jupiter/Databricks

The Opportunity:
Perform full duties and responsibilities as a Data Scientist / Analyst for the Aviation Cost Evaluation System (ACES) program working with client Jupiter / Databricks / Python. As a Data Scientist / Analyst specializing in Advana and Jupiter, you’ll be at the heart of our analytics team. You’ll design, develop, and deploy models that help leaders make informed decisions in real time. Your work will directly influence Naval Aviation operational readiness, resource allocation, and mission success interfacing with Oracle 19c's source database.

Responsibilities:

• Develop predictive models and machine learning algorithms to solve complex operational challenges.
• Build and optimize advanced analytics workflows within Advana and Jupiter platforms.
• Create interactive dashboards and visualizations using Databricks, PySpark, and Tableau to communicate insights clearly.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including analysts, engineers, and subject matter experts—to translate requirements into actionable solutions.
• Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with all relevant standards.
• Automate data ingestion and transformation pipelines for large-scale datasets.
• Conduct data analysis to derive actionable insights and recommendations to support the DOW's contract's objectives.
• Utilize Tableau or PowerBi to create data visualizations, dashboards, and reports to facilitate decision-making processes.
• Rapidly learn and become proficient in the Advana and Jupiter platforms, collaborating with team members who possess experience in these systems.
• Work with different data sources, ensuring data is accurately collected, transformed, and loaded for analysis.
• Clean and preprocess data to eliminate inconsistencies, errors, and outliers.
• Employ statistical techniques to interpret and validate data trends, patterns, and anomalies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and deliver insights that support the contract's objectives.
• Prepare and deliver reports and presentations that effectively communicate analytical findings to non-technical stakeholders.  
• Adhere to data security and privacy protocols, ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive information.
• Learn ACES team functional concepts, business processes, and practical use of all ACES applications.
• This is a “hands-on” position that requires someone who is capable of multi-tasking and working outside of their technical comfort zone.
• It requires an individual with a service-oriented mentality that can focus and take ownership of assignments/issues and manage/resolve those issues as well as lead small groups.
• Formulate, document, and follow specifications for programmers to apply in coding, testing, and debugging of the multiple programs.
• Maintain and update all areas of documentation by recording detailed accounts of all database activities.
• Demonstrate possession and implementation of strong oral and technical writing skills.
• Must have an excellent ability to communicate up and down within the organization; prepare detailed descriptions of issues, status updates, recommendations, and reports.
• Applicants must be highly organized with an eye for detail.
• Work well in a remote team-oriented environment and be able to self-manage their tasks to ensure success.
  Qualifications:
  Required: 
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, including Advana and Jupiter platforms.
• Proven experience with data analysis and visualization tools.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to draw meaningful conclusions from data.
• Databricks proficiency.
• Proficiency in data cleaning, transformation, and statistical analysis.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor's Degree from accredited college in Accounting, Finance, CS, Mathematics.
