How you’ll have an impact at Paula’s Choice: 

The Senior Retail Sales Manager - Americas is responsible for managing the day-to-day business with Sephora, driving profitable sales growth while executing strategic initiatives that strengthen Paula's Choice's position within the retailer. This role serves as the primary commercial partner to Sephora merchants and category teams, developing and executing joint business plans, identifying growth opportunities and ensuring flawless execution of product launches, promotions, and merchandising initiatives. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with outstanding relationship management and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

As the Senior Manager, Retail Sales Americas you will:

Account Management

  • Serve as the primary day-to-day commercial contact for Sephora US, CAN and Kohl’s in conjunction with Vice President Retail Sales.  
  • Build trusted relationships with Sephora Merchants, Category Managers and Marketing  
  • Develop and execute annual Joint Business Plans aligned with Paula's Choice's growth objectives.  
  • Identify opportunities to expand distribution, improve assortment productivity, and increase market share. 
  • Support successful product launches and seasonal events.  
  • Manage all day-to-day operations with Dermstore building and executing Joint Business Plans to grow Paula’s Choice business and meet retail and net sales targets. 
  • Lead market week preparations and presentation development, aligning internal teams 

Business Planning & Sales Growth

  • Analyze sales performance, category trends, competitive activity, and consumer insights to identify growth opportunities.  
  • Recommend assortment, pricing, promotional, and merchandising strategies that maximize sales and profitability.  
  • Analyze and report on Sephora Portal metrics, derive strategies and execute plans based on metrics and trends. 

Launch & Promotional Strategy and Execution

  • Use industry data and Sephora Brand Portal to develop brand strategies and recommendations to increase retail sales and improve overall brand ranking. 
  • Partner cross-functionally to execute: New product launches, Promotional events, Sampling programs and Merchandising updates. 
  • Plan and execute sampling strategy, aligning to Sephora growth strategy, track performance and provide metrics to analyze ROI.  
  • Ensure seamless communication across Sales, Marketing, Retail Operations, Supply Chain, Education, and Finance teams on Sephora launches, animations and activity. 

VM

  • Align and communicate VM assortment for seasonal updates. 
  • Review VM productivity and optimize assortment to increase productivity and sales. 
  • Review competitive VM feeding back internally best-practices and opportunities for continual improvements. 

Financial Management

  • Monitor promotional investments and retailer funding, manage brand BMI budgets and spend
  • Track trade spend and profitability, reviewing and reporting ROI.

Retail Performance Analysis

  • Monitor and analyze: Sales trends, Promotional effectiveness, Market share, Retail KPIs
  • Develop actionable recommendations supported by data and consumer insights.

Executive Reporting

  • Prepare business reviews and presentations for Internal leadership, Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), and Joint Business Planning meetings
  • Provide strategic recommendations supported by data and marketplace insights.

Qualifications

  • 5–8+ years of National Account Management experience within prestige beauty or skincare retailer, preferably Sephora.  
  • Ownership of national retail account partnership, preferably Sephora or another prestige beauty omni retailer.  
  • Proven success driving retail sales growth through strategic partnerships and best-in-class execution. 
  • Experience using data to drive insights and developing and executing strategy based on insights driving brand growth.   
  • Experience managing VM assortment improving overall profitability 
  • Experience leading launch of Sephora Mexico or Brazil. 
  • Experience working cross-functionally in a matrixed organization.  
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.  
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.  
  • West coast based, ideally San Francisco. 
  • Must have Sephora marketer or merchant referral. 

Bonus

  • Experience in prestige skincare.
  • Familiarity with Sephora systems, planning processes, and merchandising calendar.
  • Experience with syndicated retail data (Circana, Nielsen, or similar).

Approximate Salary Range Based on Experience and Location:

$135,000 - $150,000 USD/annually

Paula’s Choice Skincare determines the pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data. We evaluate external and internal equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company. Our posted salary range is based on national data and may be refined for a candidate's region/town/cost of living.

For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. The exact base salary is determined by various factors including experience, skills, education, geographic location, and budget. This position is also eligible for participation in the company discretionary bonus plan.
