The Specialty Infusion Account Coordinator is responsible for multiple facets of patient account coordination, including insurance and benefit verification, denial management, and collections. The Specialty Infusion Account Coordinator is also responsible for identifying assistance programs, such as drug copay cards, for which patients may qualify; assisting patients with enrollment in those programs; monitoring services rendered; and billing assistance programs for applicable funds. This position requires a thorough understanding of claims procedures, insurance company regulations, and oncology coding and billing. It also requires monitoring insurance company regulations for changes in precertification, documentation, and claims submission requirements. In addition, this position requires accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with physicians, staff, patients, and insurance companies. The Specialty Infusion Account Coordinator serves as a resource for other staff and patients and performs all duties in a manner consistent with Mercy's Mission, Values, and Service Standards.
