Document Accessibility Remediation Specialist - Atlanta, GA

Duration: 4+ Months (Remote/Hybrid)

Seeking for a Document Accessibility Remediation Specialist and contribute to a department-wide project to improve accessibility in static documents. This role is perfect for someone with IT skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in training on PDF accessibility and document remediation procedures.
  • Use specialized software to identify and fix accessibility issues in PDF documents.
  • Review and remediate document structure and accessibility elements.
  • Use automated tools to check accessibility and verify work.
  • Coordinate with the agency webmaster to update accessible documents.
  • Work with supervisors to resolve complex issues and escalate when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of work and manage electronic files.
  • Process a high volume of documents efficiently and accurately.
  • Protect confidential information within documents.

Qualifications:

  • General knowledge of computers and software applications.
  • Ability to learn new software and follow technical instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat Pro or similar PDF editing software.
  • Experience with document processing and high-volume work.
  • Familiarity with digital accessibility concepts and standards.

Must-Have Skills:

  • 2+ years of experience with computers and software applications.
  • 2+ years of experience modifying document structure and accessibility elements.
  • 2+ years of experience with Adobe Acrobat Pro or similar software.
  • 1+ year of experience with Equidox PDF Remediation Software (desired).
  • 2+ years of experience in document processing or related fields.
