Job description

Government Employees Health Association, Inc. (G.E.H.A) is a nonprofit member association that provides health and dental benefits that millions of federal employees and retirees, military retirees and their families have counted on since 1937. The Associate National Accounts Specialist supports G.E.H.A Solutions Inc.’s clients, and network partners by responding to service inquiries, researching provider participation, and assisting with provider referral and nomination processes. This position supports the National Accounts team, helping ensure inquiries are resolved according to contractual requirements, and escalate concerns that may impact department key performance indicators to the Supervisor.

• Responds to incoming service inquiries regarding network providers and nomination requests.
• Researches, analyzes, and documents service inquiries to support timely and accurate resolution.
• Provides administrative and operational support to National Accounts Specialists and department leadership.

SKILLS

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides timely and professional responses to service inquiries received from clients and network partners.
  • Use department applications, databases, and provider directories to verify provider participation and assist callers with accurate information.
  • Creates, updates, and tracks service inquiries in accordance with department procedures and contractual requirements.
  • Submits provider nominations received through calls, website contact forms, and other approved channels.
  • Monitors shared department resources, including voicemail and website Contact Us email inboxes, and routes inquiries to the appropriate team member or department.
  • Supports National Accounts Specialists with follow-up activities, documentation, reporting, and special projects as assigned.
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality, accuracy, and professionalism when handling member, provider, client, and business information.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; two years of college coursework may be considered in lieu of related work experience.
  • Entry-level experience (0-2 years) in a call center, customer service, healthcare, insurance, dental office, billing, claims, clerical, or administrative support environment preferred.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers, providers, clients, and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to review information accurately and follow established procedures.
  • Basic problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, including the ability to identify when an issue should be escalated.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet established timelines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Salesforce, or similar customer relationship management and tracking systems.
  • Previous clerical or administrative experience in healthcare, insurance, account management, dental services, or customer service.
  • Familiarity with provider networks, dental terminology, service inquiries, or claims-related processes.

Must reside in the Kansas City Metro

Work-at-home requirements

  • Must have the ability to provide a non-cellular High Speed Internet Service such as Fiber, DSL, or cable Modems for a home office.

  • A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 30x5 (30mpbs download x 5mpbs upload) is required.

  • Latency (ping) response time lower than 80 ms

  • Hotspots, satellite and wireless internet service is NOT allowed for this role.

  • A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.  G.E.H.A considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer.

The target hiring range for this position is $54,614 - $69,090 USD. At G.E.H.A, the current maximum salary for this role is $76,986 USD. While initial compensation may vary based on experience and qualifications, there is a path to work toward this top rate through performance and continued growth within the organization.
