Job Summary

This is a unique opportunity to lead a high-impact Market Access team at the intersection of payer strategy, customer engagement, and commercial execution. As Director, Regional Account Directors, you will shape access strategies with some of the industry’s most influential payers, PBMs, and GPOs while developing a high-performing team focused on expanding patient access to Insulet’s innovative diabetes solutions. The role offers significant visibility across senior leadership, the ability to influence business strategy, and the chance to drive measurable outcomes that improve coverage, reimbursement, and patient access while helping transform diabetes care.



The Director, Regional Account Directors leads the RAD team responsible for advancing regional payer access strategy, customer engagement, and account execution across key GPO, PBM downstream, payer, state Medicaid’s, and related customers. This role sets team priorities, coaches strategic account planning, and ensures alignment to organizational goals related to coverage, pricing, pull-through, revenue, and patient/provider access to Insulet’s portfolio of products and services. The leader will guide RADs in building trusted advisor relationships with payer stakeholders, translating national and regional strategies into actionable account plans, and delivering measurable access outcomes. Success in this role requires strong people leadership experience, market access expertise, cross-functional influence, and the ability to develop a high-performing team that executes with clarity, consistency, and accountability.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the Regional Account Director team in the development and execution of strategic account plans across assigned GPO, PBM downstream, payer, and related customers.
• Set clear team priorities, performance expectations, and execution frameworks that support organizational goals related to access, coverage, pull-through, revenue, and patient/provider access.
• Guide RADs in building relationships across operational, strategic, and executive levels within payer organizations, ensuring the team understands key stakeholders, decision pathways, and influence opportunities.
• Partner with Sales, Sales Leadership, Contracting, Marketing, Market Access, and other cross-functional partners to identify payer pull-through opportunities and align regional execution plans to broader business priorities.
• Provide strategic oversight of account planning, including account-specific opportunities and challenges related to coverage, adoption, cycle-time reduction, and market access performance.
• Maintain a strong understanding of the evolving Market Access landscape and ensure the RAD team is equipped to translate market dynamics into actionable account strategies.
• Support the team in addressing the concepts and complexities associated with Market Access, diabetes care, payer decision-making, and customer engagement.
• Ensure customer, payer, and market insights are communicated effectively across Field Access, Contracting, Sales, Sales Leadership, and other relevant internal teams.
• Represent the RAD organization in cross-functional forums and provide leadership input to support business planning, field execution, and payer strategy.
• Performs other duties as required.

People Leadership:

• Recruit, onboard, coach, and develop RAD team members to strengthen individual performance, strategic thinking, and account execution.
• Create a clear operating rhythm for team communication, business reviews, performance management, and cross-functional alignment.
• Provide timely feedback, remove barriers, and support professional development to build a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team culture.

Preferred Skills and Competencies:

• Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams in a field-based Market Access or account management environment.
• Strong record of engaging targeted payor clients at multiple levels of the organization and guiding teams toward successful access and formulary outcomes.
• In-depth understanding of health insurance systems, including pharmacy utilization management, contracting, claims adjudication, reimbursement, and payer decision-making.
• Ability to lead through influence, align senior stakeholders, and partner across functions to advance shared business objectives.
• Strong coaching, feedback, and talent-development capabilities.
• Ability to prioritize competing business needs, make strategic tradeoffs, and drive results with an emphasis on quality and execution excellence.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly at executive, cross-functional, and field-team levels.
• Ability to analyze performance data, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable team and account strategies.
• Strong organizational judgment, planning skills, and ability to manage priorities across a geographically dispersed team.
• Ability to generate, maintain, and leverage accurate records, account plans, performance updates, and business reviews.
• Strong computer proficiency and experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, or managing field-based Market Access, payer, account management, or commercial teams.
• Strong understanding of payer account strategy, coverage decision-making, pull-through planning, pharmacy benefit dynamics, contracting considerations, and third-party reimbursement processes.
• Proven ability to develop senior-level relationships with key contacts in Market Access and third-party payor organizations.

Education and Experience:

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• 5 + years of related business experience in Market Access, formularies, third-party adjudication, reimbursement, and managed markets, including PBMs, health plans, hospital systems, and private insurance.
• 10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical and/or medical device sales, Market Access, managed markets, payer strategy, account management

Physical Requirements (if applicable):   

• Travel up to 30% as required

Compensation & Benefits:

For U.S.-based positions only, the annual base salary range for this role is $167,100.00 - $250,650.00

This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation.
